Been for ever since I was under a 1st Gen.
Is the top of the tank easy to get to?

Yeah it isn't too bad about 3-4" to get your hand on top of the tank with the bed on still.

    Nice.
    Even easier.

This should make it "easier" for OP.
    No guessing.

    Blue pin is power.
    White/Black pin is Ground

Yup, and the two relevant pins on the top of the tank are bigger for the pump and on the opposite side from the 3 smaller pins for the level and low fuel senders

I’m trying to not do this, just in case the tank is full of gunk or sediment. I’m going to stick a bore scope in it, if there’s enough room. If it’s clean enough, then jumping the relay would probably be a lot easier than siphoning.

I do appreciate the info though, if you have it handy.

    Thanks

I drained my tank with a section of garden hose and a couple of 5 gallon gas cans. I went in through the top of the tank. Ended up with the taste of gas in my mouth but it did the trick. 2000 3.4 4x4 MT if it matters.

Removed the bed and pulled the fuel pump.

How old is the fuel and/or how long has it been sitting?

I just ended up removing the filler tube from the tank, and siphoned it. It was really pretty simple. There are 8 8mm screws that attach to the tank, and 4 screws to remove it from the bed. I wiggled it loose and it came out pretty easy
