You've got to keep lubrication on your pulley system somehow! :D

I just changed my oil and thought I needed a new filter drain cap. The cap came on there, but I don't know if there is a part number or I just try to find a 5/16" cap at home depot. Any suggestions?

20 0z coke bottle works perfectly. I sits on a couple of hoses underneath and the drain nipple fits into the bottle. Its "secure" and you can drain out the cup while you do other stuff

The cap on there is probably an inch long and closed on the end, preventing dirt and dust. I haven't any problems draining the cup.... but I wish I had a new cap like the one on there since this one looks like it about to crack. Am I getting the impression people are just leaving the 5/16" tube on instead of a cap?

Save a empty oil bottle from the last oil change to put under the drain. Replace the filter, spray some brake cleaner in and around the drain to wash the oil out, done. Don't even need a rubber cap

I believe the Toyota P/N you're looking for is 90339-07016. It's pricey at over $7 MSRP, although there are plenty of Toyota parts dealers/suppliers selling it discounted for around ~$5 (still way too much). It's up to you whether you want to buy a new OEM cap, cheap one from store, overcomplicate & clutter things up with a hose, or just go the @b_r_o method.

Thanks for all the feedback. I found a huge kit of these vacuum caps for 8 bucks with nitrile rubber. I will probably try to spray it when my current cap falls off to see how it works. Thanks again.

I never thought to put a hose on it. I will try it at my next oil change as I have extra tubing laying around.

Yeah. I just use an old plastic peanut butter container. Place it right underneath the oil filter housing drain hole. The pulleys etc keep it in place while I do the oil change.
