Im having a bit of a problem with the all to well known Taco Lean. For a 2013 DCLB 4x4 TRD SPORT. In the front I have Icon Ext. Travel Coilovers and in the back I have dakars with Icon Resi's.

It seems like the back is way worse than the front. I was wondering if I could put a small shim/block in the back on the drivers side that would get rid of the taco lean.

I was thinking along the lines of this: but not sure if that is the right part. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.

    Thanks

If it's "way worse" than the front then you might have installed the Dakars on the wrong side. Look for a +, a 0, or - marking on the leaf springs. The - or the 0 should go on the passenger side. I have the exact same set up as you and ran into the same problem. I had the 0 on the passenger side and the - on the driver side. Once I swapped the leaf springs 95% of the lean was gone.

You're on the right track with shimming the rear, but not a tapered one. Those tapered degree shims are junk anyway. The material is a cast material and cracks in half, plus they pull the leaf pin out of the hole on the axle. since they sandwich in between.

These are safer and better to use. Flat steel ones that bolt to the pack. 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", & 1".

In order to use tapered shims with the Dakars you should get centre pin collars to make sure there is a good connection between the centre pin and the axle

Checked and they are on the correct side. I shouldnt have said way worse, but probably 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

Thanks for the link, I may go with these. How do they install?

You remove your leaf pack , C clamp them together , remove the centre pin , install the shim to the bottom of the pack with the through bolt , re install the leaf pack

I was hoping you would be right, looks like shims are the way to go then.

When everything was installed and I saw the insane ghetto lean of my truck, I knew I had to have installed something incorrectly. Turns out it was my leaf packs as I mentioned earlier.

I haven't measured anything since installing my lift because I wanted to give the suspension time to settle before making any adjustments. If you go the route of using Beefed Taco's shims, please let me know how they work out for you in case I need to use shims myself to balance the rear height.
