Drive belt?

    Quick clarification question........

    The drive belt is the same thing as serpentine belt correct??

    Yeah that’s right, if you’re replacing it you may consider the idler pulleys too since you’ll be in there anyway.

    ok, there are no other belts to replace right? just one large one?

    Yeah. Just be aware that the pulley by the ac compressors is a pain in the ass. The bolt that holds it to its bracket is reverse thread. Some people just remove the pulley from the bracket and replace just the pulley. I’m sure there’s a tutorial around here somewhere.

    Personally, I wouldn't replace the idler pulleys unless they're making noise. If you hear noise when the engines running, or you hear/feel noise or roughness when you spin them by hand, with the belt off, then replace them.

    If it ain't broke don't fix it. The belts are good for around 75,000-100,000 miles. The pulley's will out last 3-4 belts.

    Well if the belt is off and you don’t mind spending the money and time it’s not that much trouble. If your truck is high mileage it’s a good idea though.

    im sitting at 85k, i think i will think about doing it my next belt replacement. thanks for the reccomendation tho! something to put on the list!
