So lifted 07 tacoma, and I am getting vibrations from about 30-65. When I'm off the gas the vibs go away, but they are replaced by what I would call a whine. They seem to be related. I guess the obvious guess is the carrier bearing, but the whine is an issue I haven't read about previously. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd definitely put a CB drop in there and see what it does for you. I have no vibrations with my lift and all I have is the CB drop. A lot of people use axle shims too.

    About 5k miles ago.

I have one to install. Last time I was at the dealer, I had them look the truck over and they said the CB looked worn. The vibrations all but went away with my 33s so I never installed it. But, now that I have my 31s back on they are worse than before.

I sure wouldn't have the dealer do it, if he is anything like our local one.I was checking for solutions for a friend of mines vibration issues, and came across this thread. He is at the local dealer right now, and just got a price for a carrier bearing, installed ,on his 2008 TRD OR Auto. First they told him around 500.00 total, so I checked the bearing price on Rock auto, 40.79 and told him I would help him do it this weekend. He just called back and told me the service manager told him he had made a mistake about the bearing price, it would be over 1000.00 just for the bearing, as it is not sold separate, it comes with the driveshaft's ,all balanced, plus 500.00 for the installation. He is still at the dealer, he paid the 95.00 diagnostic fee to identify the problem and is trying to get them to justify 1500.00 for a carrier bearing he can pick up for 40 bucks.. He is in his late 60's and I am sure he is telling the truth about it. Is this common practice for the dealerships, or am I missing something about replacing this carrier bearing, the center support one on the rear driveshaft, it looks fairly simple ? I apologize for hijacking the thread, we are also trying to get the same type of issue resolved.
