The carrier bearing (center) has worn out and needs replace.145k. I have pro comp add a leaf. could this be the reason it wore out? I have seen on the internet that guys are replacing the drive line with a 1 peice shaft. Is this good bad why? Thanks

naw CB'd are known to go out. If you are a 2WD 6 lug truck you are limited to the standard doughnut style CB. Replace it and all rear U joints with spicer units and call it good.

Those dual shafts are not good. Carrier bearing always goes out.
That's why I insist on keeping my regular cab. One piece driveshaft.
I'd suggest a one piece shaft with Zerk fittings. Good luck in your endeavour. :)

I believe most guys that replace their shafts with a one piece shaft are trying to rid themselves of driveshaft vibrations, mainly due to lifting their trucks, not necessarily to bypass the carrier bearing alone. If your carrier bearing wore out, just replace it and move on. It happens.
