I did a car wash subscription in Colorado.

Road salt out the ass there.

They make up for it in the summer where you don’t need to do it as much.

Still $$$ with the price of water there.

I use the local brush, soap & lights filled drive-thru regularly. Can’t say I’ve noticed any impact to the paint but I’m also not entering my truck into the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance so I’m not terribly concerned.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
Tried several car washes all over NJ. Even the bougie ones. Found that I can get it cleaner on my own even when I half ass it with nothing but a home depot bucket and a wheel brush. Don't waste your money, they're all dog shit.

I think I'll go change my oil before the manual recommends...

I have a monthly subscription - it's 15 bucks per month (after my military discount) for the works. I probably go through at least every other day. I'm sure it is not good for the paint, but honestly as much as I drive (180K miles in 3 years) the paint is the least of my concerns.

My wife just got a new 4Runner (lime color)...she will only use touch free auto washes or do it herself, but she stays at home and has more free time than me. She took delivery of her car on 2/28 and still only has 6K miles...so the car doesn't get that dirty in our garage.

I just wand wash mine if I take it anywhere. Otherwise a garden hose, a bucket (two if I'm feeling fancy) and some cloths.

I bought a Lunar Rock truck so the dust, scrapes, and swirls don't show as much. Life is too short to spend time giving my truck a three hour sensual massage in the driveway every weekend.

During the winter I'll run through the touchless as needed to get the salt and gunk off. Then bring it inside the garage, turn on the heat, and do a rinseless wash to get it completely clean.

Summer it's handjobs only. My outside spigot is fed from a cistern that gets all its water from the rain. Runs through a basic filter. It seems to be really nice water to wash vehicles with and I haven't seen any spotting. Pretty Eco-friendly if I do say so. There is a bypass loop if it ever gets low and I can use the well water if needed. It has a water softener and is pretty good water and pressure.

I use under carriage car wash during the winter weather, hand wash in the warmer weather. I search for brushless. The one in town is not brushless and uses a lot of recycled water which is ok if it has good filtering else you get high pressure salt water. I power wash the under carriage 2-3 times a year and touch up crc rust inhibitor (spring and fall)
