    Tacoma Mike,
Can you find out if the new springs lower the pinion angle? The pinion angle on my stock 2013 TRD measured out to be 3.3 deg. I have a terrible 15-25 mph shudder on acceleration.

My transfer case flange is at 2.3 deg. down, the front 1/2 of the driveshaft is at 5.8 deg., the rear 1/2 of the driveshaft is at 4.8 deg, and the rear axle pinion is at 3.3 deg. So, it currently looks like the front CV working angle is 3.5 deg. (5.8-2.3) and the rear working angle is 1.5 deg (4.8-3.3).

    Thanks

Tomorrow makes 2 weeks that they have had my truck. Starting to to get pissed that I cant get in touch with my service advisor and they wont call me back either. We are under an ice storm warning here in the Memphis area and I really dont want to be w/o my truck today.

I'm not sure he will have that info. However when I see him again I would be happy to ask for you. Not sure when he will be back in my shop.

My dealership is doing the parts one at a time. First they installed the trans mount. Problem still exists so they ordered the leaf springs and will call me when they are ready to install. I will post updates.

Maybe a dumb question but does the leaf pack for the tsb add any kind of height to the rear? I have the Baja and like that it sits level. Debating if I want the service dept to mess with my truck or just deal with the vibration.

So the truck went in today. They verified the issue and installed the transmission mount part 12371-31250. They say the vibration is eliminated.

It was hard for me to test it out on the way home due to traffic. But the one time I was able to give it a bit more gas as it seemed to still vibrate. Should have a better idea tomorrow on my normal drive.

It should still be there, sadly. Try taking off from dead stop and accelerate a little bit but not too heavy and on your way to 20-25 mph you should feel it again? Interested....

I have a question. Was there any slope on the bottom surface of the trans where you took the measurements? When you measured the 2-9/16" before measurement, I noticed that the tape measure was to the right side of the center of the mount. When you measured the 2-5/16", the tape measure was more toward the center of the mount. My measurement varies by 3/16" as I move the tape measure between the left and right halves of the mount. I am trying to find out where I need to measure.

    Thanks

I had my truck in for these vibrations, break squeal and stereo distorting at high volume in the summer for its first servicing. They said vibrations and speakers were normal and they greased the breaks (which didn't work)

Going in tomorrow with Both TSB's for vibrations and break squeal. And I found if I fade my stereo all the way forward it sounds great, all the way back and the headliner speakers are clearly blown, will be pointing that out to them.

Can any of you who have had this tab done, can you please post part numbers and descriptions or your receipt copy, it would be great to see what corrections are being done.

Still vibrating for me after driving around some more today. I also feel vibration while braking between 25-0mph.

They inspected the brakes at my 5k toyota care visit and said they were normal. On this last visit I had the 10k done along with the TSB.

Here's the techs description on my invoice.

"Test drive the vehicle verified light 2nd order vibration [under specific condition outlined in TSB] but did not duplicate any abnormal brake vibration, replaced transmission mount as per TSB, and vibration eliminated."

I really wonder if this has something to do with the last TSB/ Production change on the leaf springs that fixed the sagging problem. The rear now sits higher than with the prior springs. It looks like the pinion may be tilted too far upward (which gets worse when accelerating). I measured the pinion angle on mine, and it is at 3.3 deg. The trans angle is at 2.5. The driveshaft halves are approx 1 deg. of from other. I wonder if the trick would be to get the trans and pinion angles less than 1/2 degree from each other, along with the driveshaft halves within 1/2 deg of each other.

If you don't mind me asking what did the new trans mount cost you?

I thought that the 3 leaf pack was also updated to a new part number?

I apologize for the sloppy pictures, but that's the result of me trying to hold the tape measure and the camera AND attempting to get a clear shot. The pics are just for reference, but in reality I measured dead center both times.

The mount was right around $70-75 from a Toyota dealer who sells parts online ($94 including all of the TSB parts listed here and shipping). All of the online dealerships across the country beat my local dealer (who sells parts ABOVE listed retail prices) by far.
