My 2013 is at the dealer since yesterday for the new TSB. Dealer called yesterday afternoon to say it should be ready tomorrow as parts have been ordered.

I was given a 2014 TRD Sport as a loaner. It's a 4 wheel drive and doesn't seem to have the 15/25 MPH vibration that my Prerunnr TRD OR access cab has.

Definitely let us know if it fixes it. I've not made my appt yet. I hammered it off the line tonight at at stoplight and I definitely felt it stronger than on normal acceleration and it definitely needs to get taken care of.

Printed the TSB regarding the clunk and shifting issues I was experiencing with my '09 SR5 that according to the dealer was "normal". Called the dealer and was told to bring it in with the truck. 5 year warranty had just expired but the truck only had 33k miles. So they went ahead and replaced the drive shaft parts as indicated and the ride improved immediately (silky smooth). NO more clunk or rough shifting. If it hadn't been for this posting I would have missed out on this repair.
    Much appreciated.

Excellent. I have an appt Tuesday morning to drop my truck off. Took the TSB in and the advisor hadn't seen it yet, said "It shouldn't take more than a day" but I have my doubts, since they'll probably have to order parts. Regardless, it'll get taken care of.

From what I read in the TSB it does not apply to the regular cab 2.7l with automatic. My truck most certainly vibrates as the truck slows from 35-15mph. I thought is was the rotors at first, but have figured out it is something else. It seems like the same issue being discussed here.

Went through and measured my drive shaft angles today before i go in to the dealer tomorrow.

First U joint is 4* angled down out of the transmission to the ground

Second u joint is 2* angled upwards

    3rd u joint is 0* flat.

I dont know how the hell toyota designed it like this and thought it was going to work

So i got a call about an hour before my appointment from the manager above the service manager stating that the tool they had ordered and said they had on friday the 14th, was in fact the wrong tool..

I went, good job guys, how about i bring my proper angle finder and we get some parts ordered.

Got there and was doing the paperwork and they took my truck, 10 min later i walked back to the service bay and saw my truck up in the air full droop.... walked over and stated to the SERVICE MANAGER who was working on my truck using my angle finder to measure the rear pinion and stated.... did you even READ the tsb where it says vehicle must be at ride height....

    he goes... oh

We finish up the oil change and tire rotation (at that point i stood there and watched everything take place) then went over to the alignment rack and WE did the measuring. came up with .3*

Brought the truck down referenced leaf spring chart 4 as 1 my truck has the "firm ride suspension" and 2 the previous TSB had not been done, came up with needing the new leaf pack that has a 2* caster wedge (parts 48220-04310 LH 48210-04670 RH), i pulled out page 3 of the TSB with all the parts he needed to order and told him... order ALL of these that are highlighted asap.

Picked up my Tacoma tonight and the 15/25mph vibration is gone.
Per the work order TSB found "P/A" angle at 4.4 and "F/A" angle at 4.3
Replaced trans mount, leaf springs and steering wheel damper.

I requested 4 leaf springs if they needed replacement and that is what I got. So for me it's a win, win, vibration fixed and I got my 3 leaf springs replaced with 4 leaf.

    Parts description:
    1) insulator engine
    1) spring assy RR L
    1) spring assy RR
    1) Damper, steering
    2) screw w/washer
    4) bolt U
    8) nut flange
    8) washer plane
    2)bumper RR spring

Can you tell us if the ride height of the rear has changed any? And maybe snap some pics of the new springs?

Just dropped mine off at the dealer. Good to hear this TSB might be the nail in the coffin for the vibes.

The rear is sitting possibly 2" higher with the new 4 leaf springs and TSB. It's hard to judge as I have air shocks in the rear, but it's defiantly sitting higher.

Normally I have about 450lbs in the rear and it was sagging so bad with 3 leafs I added air shocks. Even At 50 PSI almost every time I drove at night other vehicles would flash their high beams. At 70 PSI the rear was still a little low but at least my headlights didn't seem to be bothering other drivers. So the new 4 leaf springs makes me very happy. I just hope these won't start sagging badly as they age. My truck is only one year old with 11,400 miles.

I am the fellow that listed the new TSB and I would appreciate some feedback from members with the driveline vibration/shudder. I have a 2012 regular cab with the 4 cylinder engine with a 4 speed transmission. When I took my truck in for it's first oil change about a year ago I reported the periodic driveline vibration/shudder that I was experiencing. My local Toyota dealer contacted the regional representative and the feedback was that it is a base truck. A few weeks ago I decided to send a letter to the Toyota Customer Experience Center with my concern with the diveline/shudder and the fact that the problem has been around since 2009 with the 2nd gen trucks and that the previous TSB's had been rescinded and the problem still persists, I also mentioned the initial feedback from the regional representative. I discussed this again with my service representative when I took the truck in for an oil change and he made me aware of the new TSB. The Experience Center contacted the dealer and I am to take the truck in this Thursday for evaluation. I was also told that the new tsb does not apply to vehicles equipped with a 4 speed auto transmission only the 5 speed auto transmission.

Here are my questions that I would appreciate some feedback on:
    1. The driveline vibration/shudder occurs occasionally NOT every time I go through the speed threshold. Do you experience the same thing?

    2. Any idea why the TSB would only apply to the 5 speed? Is a regular cab with 4 cylinder engine available with a 5 speed auto transmission? My guess is that not many base trucks are sold and a solution was not explored because of that.

    3. I am going to request that the dealer check the driveline angles on my truck even though the TSB does not apply. It would seem to me if the angles are outside the limits the vibration/shudder I am experiencing it should be addressed even though it is a base truck. Any thoughts as to why the TSB would not apply if the angles were outside the limits?

    4. Does anybody else participating in this forum have a base truck with a regular cab, 4 cylinder engine, and a 4 speed automatic transmission?

Sorry for the long winded post.

Regarding the 15/25 mph vibration in my Tacoma I don't feel it with very light acceleration. So no I do not feel it every time. With spirited driving I would feel it every time.

My Tacoma is a V6 with an automatic 5 speed transmission.
