Thanks for the response. I am awaiting a call from the dealership. They ordered all the applicable leaf packs and will put on the necessary one after they measure the driveline.

I'm at Chuck Hutton Toyota waiting for them to finish measuring the angles. I asked the service rep.... "When we're done measuring we'll know what leaf pack to order, right? And his response was.... "well yeah maybe.... you might already have the right set on there, we'll see"

So I'm expecting a run around from these folks. Seems like he's already setting himself up for an "out" to keep from doing the work. I guess like he said........ WE'LL SEE.

I don't think that is necessarily the case. I had the 3+1 leaf pack on my truck and still had my leafs replaced for the driveline vibration tsb. Although my service rep wasn't entirely clear about the difference in the leafs he said they were different and had to be put on. Once the new leafs were on, the vibe was gone. Prior to the new leafs being installed, with only the mounts and steering wheel damper installed, the vibe remained. I wish I was more mechanically inclined and could specify the difference between the leafs.

Like captchas has been saying through out this thread, just gotta let the technician go through the steps the TSB outlines and the rest will follow.

The difference is in the mount. The new leaf packs come with a "wedged mount" to turn the pinion upwards slightly witch in turn will straighten out some of the angles between the transmission and rear axle. Now aside from that, I dont know if the new springs are any stiffer from the previous ones, though I would THINK they are since others here are reporting a slightly higher ride height, but who knows really.

But about my previous post on this.... My negative tone in that post was directed at the dealership. I already feel like they have been giving me run around and stuff. I was just expecting them to try to get out of doing the work is all. Turns out, now that I am at home. They gave me my truck back and told me that they had to order the parts and they should be there in a few days and I could probably come back next week for the install. They said it would be an "all day job" so it sounds like they wont be giving me a loaner to drive like they have multiple times in the past.

No worries wasn't taking it in any bad way. Like I have said in a few of my posts here I am by no means that mechanically inclined nor do I know much about the specifics of the TSB, just reporting my experience.

In one of my last posts I said I would measure the ride height, I'll make sure I do that this evening and post it here. I feel as if the ride is a bit stiffer in itself, but marginally noticeable. I also thing the leafs have a bit more beef to them. The service manager showed me a side-by-side picture he took and I could swear the new ones looked thicker or bulkier. I also need to load the bed and see what the payload capacity is like, but living in the city or apartment I'll have to find a unique way to do that.

You just have to find 6 or 7 friends to get in the bed of the truck (or 3 or 4 really heavy friends lol). I will also do some ride height measuring and take some before and after pics with it too. So as soon as I can get that installed I will get back with you guys here. Until then, I will be checking back here for success or failure jobs on this fix.

Back out this afternoon, they have to order the "tool" to comply with the TSB and will call me back when it arrives ... The dealer assured me that they will resolve this issue .

Bit of good news is they are replacing the frayed drivers seat bottom due to premature wear :) ...

My drivers seat is doing the same... 5 months old and the bottom is already fraying...

My dealer did the same thing... Oh we need to order the tool... Called me to come in and they had the wrong tool ordered... So I lent them mine and was under my truck showing them how to do the measurements.

I was a little upset due to the fact that last week I went to the dealer with a copy of the TSB to schedule the work and asked if they had everything on hand to troubleshoot the problem ... Oh, well ... I imagine another two trips are in order, one to take measurements and go back again after they order the parts ...

Alright took rough measurements this morning, it was a bit dark out so I can get more accurate measurements this afternoon. Measurements taken from center of hub to the bottom of the fender well:

    Front Left: 21"
    Front Right: 21"
    Rear Left: 22"
    Rear Right: 22"

Seems like the new leafs didn't do anything different. IIROC from numerous other threads on here, this is about the same as normal (stock) 3+1 leaf Tacomas.

I would consider getting 5100's for the front to level it out, but I feel like this might undo work the dealership did the makes the vibes go away.

If you have a trailer hitch, can you measure to the bottom edge of the receiver?

Well I have to admit that Chuck Hutton Toyota is on the ball. I just got a call saying my parts came in and I can come by to have them installed. I told them I could come by right now and he told me to hold on he was gonna check to see if they have a loaner car to give me. They didnt have one right now so he told me to check back with him tomorrow. He also told me that I was getting the 4 leaf pack since I had expressed concern about prefering the 4 over the 3. So maybe I will be getting updated tomorrow!

Just received my truck back from the dealer. I got the wheel dampener, engine mount, and the 3+1 pack (48210-04660 and 48220-04300). So far, the ride is substantially better and no vibration on heavy accelerations. I did notice that Tacoma "clunk" when accelerating from a stop is a little more noticeable, but not enough to make me concerned since it did that before. I am pretty satisfied with the results. I will get to test the new springs rigidity with a move this weekend!

    Dr. Da da!

Yes, please help me get rid of this take off shudder! It is driving me crazy. Mine started when I installed an Old Man Emu suspension. Man, please text me at 704-297-5166. Or, email me at skipmiller1965@yahoo.com. I have no idea how to calculate the angle(s). Much less how many shim washers to use.
    Thanks,
    Don

Mine does this. I'm curious to see if it still does it after I get this TSB done.

I used to feel it when coming to a stop before the TSB. Now I feel it when I start moving. I wonder if it has something to do with the new driveline angle. I will pay more attention to it in the coming days and report back.

So I have heard. I am not concerned about it as it seems to be normal. I was just making mention that is it still there since some people have expressed concern whether or not it will remain after the repair.

Scheduled mine (2014 DCSB OR) to be dropped off tomorrow morning. Asked the SA if they have the drivline angle measuring tool but he basically said they had to do the inspection first (he probably doesn't know). I'm guessing I may be the first to have it done at this dealer (Autonation Toyota Arapahoe) because he asked me to bring in a copy of the TSB.

EWM - I will measure to the bottom of my tow receiver pre and post tsb and report back if no one does beforehand.
