Please some input on my situation:
Have a 2012 v6 Prerunner DC SR5 Tow, lots of vibs on accell and occasionally on hard decelleration.... Should I...
1: have the dealer do the drive line replacement (bump-from-behind) (0250-12) first and THEN go get the vibration tsb (0008-14) done later?
2: Have the vib tsb done (needed by 3/36), then get the drive line replaced before the 5/60 is over.
3: Try to get both at the same time.....
#3 may confuse them, so I'm leaning toward #2...as a later replacement of the drive line shouldn't have anything to do with the motor mount or the spring selection (springs show 3+1)
Don't know how much the dealer liikes this warranty work, as he's not the seller. But I figure if his shop isn't super busy it's some income at least.

But my guess is if I push the Drive Line vib, they'll do that and will miss the Drive Line replacement (won't even test for the bump-from-behind.) Then I can deal the drive line issue later-it's not that bad but certainly noticable....

Just wanted to clear one thing up.....

My measurements were taken on stock Rugged Fail tires (that were bald as hell). As soon as I left Toyota I went to the tire shop and had my new Duratracs mounted (265/75/16) and NOW at my receiver I am sitting at an even 18 inches.

SA just got back to me. The tech is getting the parts ordered and expects them mid next week but will get back to me as soon as they get there to schedule me in.

Weather permitting, we are taking our first weekend camping trip next weekend so I'm kind of hoping it won't be until the week after so I can see if there is a difference hauling my travel trailer since I have not hauled with it in its current setup.

I was wondering when they would issue a TSB for that, 40mph shudder gets annoying.

Glad to see everyone is having good results with this TSB, I will now talk to my dealer about it for my 2012 when I'm there on Monday for my rear brake TSB. Only problem for me is it sounds like some dealers are taking awhile to complete this repair and no Toyota dealers offer loaners in my area. Its such a pain my truck has been to the dealer for the past 3 weeks for warranty issues and every time i have to either wait 2-3hrs, find a ride or rent a car from them. I'm going to at least see if they have the tool to measure the angles first.

Per the TSB, they won't measure until the mount and damper have been replaced so you might want to see if they have those in as well. That being said, I asked about the angle finder also and they said they would have to verify the condition first anyway so I doubt they will order anything (if they don't already have it) without verifying symptoms first.

Got mine back today. All the vibes appear to be gone. The only pain in the ass, as stated in a post above, is that it took several trips to the dealer over the course of about three weeks.

My 06 Reg cab 4x2 only has 57K.

Vibrations started about 6 months ago and have progressed to a shudderrrr on acceleration from 15mph all the way to top end.

It's so noticeable, that it rattles my phone vent mount!

6 year/60K mile -"whichever comes first"- warranty ain't gonna cut it.

I'll visit my dealer this week with the TSP in hand.

Wonder if Toyota will offer to fix....

KaPantsKey, chas44, rainmn, Can you help with a huge favor? Can any of you take a couple of pics of your new leafs and post them? I am interested to see a good view of the ends of the spring, and especially the ends of the overload leaf. A side view might be cool too if possible. Thanks so much for your consideration!

So I'll need to get a parts list and replace all the 'defective' pieces on my dime. It's gotten so annoying that I'll gladly do it.

Anyone got the part numbers handy?

(Steering damper, springs and motor mounts) am I missing anything?

So the difference in part numbers between all of the leaf springs is the degree of pinion shim bolted to them?

Don't know what I was measuring before, maybe it was dark and didn't see it right. Receiver to ground is 17" on the dot.

I will try and snap a few tomorrow. I wish I saw this earlier as I was washing my truck and it would have been really easy.
