If you are planning on doing an AAL at least you will get a "quality" 4 leaf pack to start out with. And thats bull shit that none offer loaners... bitch enough and they will.

4 leaf pack would be a plus, i just added a leer topper and i can defiantly tell my 3 leaf pack is hurting trying to support that extra weight. I complained about the loaner tell when my truck had to go in for previous warranty work, all the Toyota dealers in my area have enterprise rental car locations on there lots so its policy that they only rent cars. Its a bunch of bs, only dealer around me that will give me a loaner is 80miles away. With members posting that this TSB can take upwards of 15days makes me not even want to attempt it and just tell with vibes and a crappy 3leaf pack.

I have a question for you guys...

I have a 2014 DCLB Sport 4X4 and I just noticed tonight that under hard acceleration that I have the same shudder as is described here. I have the 3 + 1 spring pack, is there a fix for my truck?

Yup, the latest TSB (T-SB-0008-14) will fix it. They are using a different 3 and 4 leaf pack (you would get the 4 leaf pack) with a proper degree wedge.

Swung by the dealer at lunch so they could finally take the driveline angle measurements. New leaf packs should be in within a week.

Got mine back today and I'll echo the 99%. Under hard accel and decel it's still there, albeit significant improved. Normal driving its 100% gone.

So I took my truck into the Anaheim dealer; After a few hours, I was told about the TSB (I played dumb, like I didnt know anything) and that they need to measure the drive line angles. So I will drop the truck off on a monday (after my week in Death Valley... coming up) so they can order the angle finder tool and do the work.

I dont know that they did the steering damper or anything else... but they are much more receptive to my concerns. Longo toyota acted like they never heard of a TSB, where Anaheim told me about the TSB. Longo Said I have to talk to the regional service rep..... BS. They have way too much "paid" service, that they dont want to deal with TSB issues.

Way to go Anaheim!!! Maybe not...

UPDATE: Service writer tells me my "never worked on" 2012 already has updated parts; Mechanic says that TSB will only improve my driveline vibration, not fully fix it, so he didnt do it... WTF????

So why would I not want the improvement?? Thats why I brought it in. So after these two guys told me two different stories (all three of us sitting there), I am thinking these guys are a joke. Now mechanic says if I am ok with an "improvement", then he will order parts.... And they have had my truck for about 2 weeks now. What a joke.

I also have to say after driving it more that its significantly improved through all RPMs while cruising. less road feel and just smooth.

Much better, so glad they finally got this right.

Are dealers really doing one item (steering damper, then mount then springs) and testing after each install?
The TSB says if it qualifies, do all three at once. What am I missing?

Technically as per the instructions of the TSB, they do them in order testing after each one. If they are smart (you should tell them to do this) they get everything ordered but the rear leaf springs before you come in the first time.

Install the dampener, test, install transmission mount, test, then measure for rear springs, order springs. then come in for a final install of the springs.

That stated given my dealer's horrible knowledge, i had to lend them my angle finder (because they ordered the wrong tool and called me an hour before my appointment of which i took the day off to go to), then show the service supervisor / lead tech how to properly measure the angles with the tool (i was under my own truck at the dealership) then told them to order all the parts (highlighted and circled the proper parts from page 3 of the tsb) and handed that to the service supervisor. They then ordered the wrong leaf springs which i caught before going back... then they called in the field cooperate techs to come and install everything.

Needless to say i am in talks with toyota cooperate and ventura toyota customer service manager for some compensation for this insane experience of literally spoon feeding everything to them.

Just repeating what everyone else is saying, vibes for me are pretty much non-existent anymore. Very happy with the way this was resolved. I should be getting a set of Michelin LTX AT2 in the coming week or two so can't wait to see how much better it will drive with new rubber.

So out of curiosity, how much is this TSB costing you guys? I've got an '06 TRD Sport and have to head in and get this done eventually :(

Only have had the engine mount and steering wheel damper installed (leaf springs should be in this week). The invoice I have received didn't have any prices on it, just "0.00" at the bottom.

If you are under warranty, then there should not be any cost. If you are out of warranty, and the dealer documented your issues BEFORE the TSB was released, then you shouuld get this at no cost.... I had the leaf spring TSB done on my 2005 a couple years (and 10,000 miles) past warranty period, but because the techs did document my issue during regular maint. visits, the dealer and Toyota agreed to take care of it.
I had to fight hard for it. My argument: I told the techs about the weak suspension. They should have investigated and found the TSB, which they did not.. they only documented my concern instead of fixing the issue.
I ended up paying for an alignment, the rest was taken care of by Toyota and the dealer....

I have had the vibrations since the truck was new, but ignored them until installing the ARB OME springs, shocks and struts, which made the vibrations even worse.

I wonder if Toyota would follow the TSB and replace all the parts other than the springs.

Once those new parts installed, would it be just as easy to set the DS angles with the ARB Dakar springs as it is with the new updated Toyota springs?

I'm not expecting the DS adjustments to be done under warranty, though that would certainly be great if they were. I just want the vibes gone.

The TSB is still fairly new. Has anyone with a non-factory suspension had that battle with Toyota yet?

I regret to inform you Sir that since you have a modified suspention then this TSB will not apply to you and it would probably take a hell of a lot of arguing to make them cover it. But I wish ya luck though, I am very interested in seeing what options I have available since I DID have the TSB work done and I still want a mild lift too.... but I dont want them damn vibes back though.
