Have the same issue; seems like vibes have died down after 21000 miles. So there's just a little vibe at exactly 20, and a tiny amount at 40 and 60; even tho tires are rebalanced may not be related to the drive line. Already have the 4 leaf pack. So with 4 months to go on my 3/36000 warranty, don't think it's severe enough to trust trying to make it better.

Update: regarding pull to the right, took it back to the dealer and was told I needed an alignment, which they did for me no charge. Service Manager said no way it was due to the new springs, and he showed me the alignment specs. Not sure why it suddenly went out of alignment, but kudos to the dealer for not charging me for it.

After having the tsb done now for a month, the severe vibe is gone at 20 mph, but now I feel a general vibe when slowing down from roughly 28 mph down to about 18 mph. It's worse when the gas tank is low. Before the tsb, I always noted that the vibe was better when I had a load in the bed, may be the same now, I usually keep a couple bags of softener salt in the bed during the winter.

Has anyone experienced a "buzz" felt in the steering wheel after the TSB modification was completed. Mine gets a very high frequency vibration or buzz in the wheel and also in the accelerator pedal around 2000 RPM in several gears. It seems worse when climbing hills. Any ideas?

here is the deal on alignment
    ----
though there are no alignment settings for the rear per se, doing anything to the rear does affect front alignment and rear thrust angle

leaf springs locate the rear axle

    a) rear thrust angle. should be dead straight, but this is controlled by the leaf centering pins (center bolt), u-bolts, and the shackles. if they had absolutely zero play in the connecting parts, then replacing leafs doesn't change thrust angle....but there is a tiny amount of play and changing anything concerning leafs will change things slightly on the thrust angle...and a new thrust angle affects the front

    b) raising or lowering the truck in the rear with new leafs or a shim. any time you raise or lower the rear, it affects the front wheel caster and sometimes toe

it should be mandatory on the TSB to do an alignment after the job. when mine was done yes vibes are completely fixed but my rear end sits 1.5 inches higher now, and steering wheel was off by 5 degrees. had to get that aligned

    100% correct.

...and you don't even have to take the springs off either.

Depending on how the vehicle is sitting, just loosening and re-tightening the u-bolts can change the alignment.

It's because you can't loosen and tighten all 4 nuts simultaneously. If you loosen one nut the spring tries to creep in that direction.

It's like opening a suitcase stuffed with clothes & they pop out. There's pressure there, looking for relief.

Took the truck in for the shuddering. They refused to do anything about it. They said it was tires.
I've been an master auto tech for 30 years and it's NOT the tires.

I'm going in when I get back home in 2 months. Mine has a slight vibe at 15-25 but only when I give it medium-hard skinny pedal. The guys at Lakeside Toyota seem ok, and they basically told me they would have done the rear leaf TSB for me, if the 2013 were part of it, so I think this will just be killing two birds with 1 stone. The 2+1 leaf pack is trash. It bottoms out unloaded on New Orleans bumps.... They should just replace all 2+1 packs no questions asked if you are under 3/36.

I am about to buy a 2010 Pre-Runner. It does not have these vibrations everybody talks about but should I be worried about it in the future? It is a 2010 with 25,000 miles

Are 2010's known for the vibrations? Thanks

I e-mailed the Service Manager at the Toyota dealer about my issues.
He contacted Toyota and they said it may or may not correct my concern.
The dealer did not want to throw parts at my truck and not fix it.

Anyway, Toyota said go ahead with the service bulletin repair for the shuddering.

I took the truck in Tuesday to have the repair done.

The rear leaf springs were replaced with a three leaf stack vs the OEM two stack.
The motor mounts were replaced and a damper (counter weight) installed on the steering wheel it self.

The shudder is gone. The only side effect is a slightly stiffer ride.

I finally got the full TSB done with the springs and and wedges. It did cure the main vibration that bothered me. The ride height was nice and leveled out but it didn't take long to squat back down but the vib's have not come back. It is about time for new tires now. KO2's I'm thinking.

it is the damper inside the steering wheel that they bolt in, the picture is in the TSB pdf

Anyone with the decel vibes/crabwalk (post tsb) get it resolved by the dealer? I've been dealing with mine for a few months but i've about had it with the vibrations when i'm stuck in traffic. Wondering if there has been a resolution yet.

I had pretty much given up on fixing the vibration problem.
My 2012 does it from 0 to 15 mph approx, but now after about 35k miles
it has started doing the bump thing when I stop.
Auto Nation Toyota here in Austin claimed the vibes were not bad enough
to warrant the work. After 2 attempts I got frustrated and gave up til now.
I have about 45k miles so the leaf spring assy fix will not be happening under
warranty. I don't think that is the problem anyway. My hope is that if I take it to Round Rock Toyota they might take pity on me and do the trans mount.
My suspicion is that the problem is a driveline angle issue anyway.
I am really disappointed that a pickup (esp. Toyota), being as simple of a driveline setup as possible, would have these problems.

    Has anyone tried this?:
    http://www.armortechoffroad.com/2005-2013-Tacoma-Traction-Bar-Set_p_344.html

If nothing else I will wait until the 60k warranty is up and try the traction bar.

weird I'm going to call my service guy this monday in Round Rock. Small world.
i Have a 2013 and Ive brought it there before for that vibration but they said it was the warpped rotors. But even after they resurfaced them Im still having that issue. So I wrote him an email and see if they'll give me the tab leaf and also fix that damn clunk noise when I come to a stop, but that TSB is for 05-12 only.

I have driven trucks my entire life, but this is a vibration I cannot live with. It is horrible in thick traffic moving 15-25 mph. Constant shaking of the steering wheel. It sucks. What's really funny is the leaf springs are part of this repair. There is a serious recall on the springs because they can break and puncture the gas tank. No fix yet.

As far as Toyota, yes, it may be just a tab, but it is still apparently a "known issue", which translates to "design flaw", which they should cover no matter the warranty. This is nothing I HAVE DONE, so it is bullsh*t that I have to pay.

I work for the largest computer company in the world. When we have a known issue and the public gets wind of it, we have to fix it, no matter the warranty.

There is a recall on the leaf springs. No fix yet, but they have to fix those for free once the fix is out.

The TSB in this thread will fix about 90% of the issues with the new leaf pack.

The leafspring recall you are referencing are for different years before they changed the springs.

    Two different unrelated issues.
