Was installing my new Subaru tweeters in my Taco... disconnected negative battery terminal since removing A-pillar covers and air bags there. So was a quick 20 minute job - speaker replacement changed the whole sound! Very impressive.

Last thing to do, re-connect battery and test drive. All good.

Next day get in truck and the drivers side window won't work.. all other windows work from the drivers door controller cept the driver door window.

I looked in the manual.. There's a re-set procedure for when the window gets stuck open or when the window malfunctions when something gets stuck in it (jam protection function) but nothing about when battery disconnect and window stuck shut??

Anyone have this issue please enlighten me on the fix procedure??

I remember this happening on my 2007 Mustang back in the day. I think you just had to go through the re-set procedure. IIRC, it was just a matter of holding the button when in a specific mode...but then again that was a Ford...

Have you tried the re-set procedure that you found in the manual? Even though it doesn't specifically talk about when the battery is disconnected, you could still try that...

Yes tried several versions... nada... not a big fan of coincidence, its gotta be an easy fix..

I had a dream last night I took it to the dealer and they told me I needed a new door! ..... I guess more of a nightmare. Weird too .. I was about to install door speakers so glad I didn't get to it yet.

First thing I would check is the fuse for the power window.

I did that on my old 2000 Tacoma and it was nothing more than a lockout switch on the Drivers door that I accidentally pressed down on.

and wires, make sure they didnt get pulled off when you were messing with the speakers. Could also be the window switch itself, you can take it apart and clean the contacts. Depending on the age of your vehicle. Mine was intermittent and I just replaced the switch and works fine now.

Happens to my 13 GS 350 F- sport. Just press window switch down 4/5 sec, and then hold up the same. Sometimes you have to do so to all window switches.

Make sure you did not press this button.

Wasn't the window lock button that one only works all the other 3 windows anyway does not lock the drivers window.

ASSume driver is older than child! Hmmm could be an IQ test too! o_O

I did a google on this one ... apparently quite popular for Toyotas in general to have this issue when disconnecting battery.

Trying not to take it the dealer and look like a total dork.

I tried several different versions of the up/down button thing.

Apparently there's a test mode on some other models and the switch light will blink in test mode until reset properly... I have illumination on all the window buttons so it's getting power.

My wallet is getting twitchy.. I'm starting to feel like its a window regulator or motor gone kaput.

Are those covered by warranty?? I've got 30,100 miles. Now feeling like its covered up to 30K ....

I think it should be covered under the 3/36 warranty.

Did you check the fuse? I had this happen and the fused looked normal, but when I switched it with a different one it worked

No didn't check the fuse ... where's it located? Figured since the switch is illuminated the fuse would be OK???

I would revert all mods on your door back to stock first before taking it to the dealer.

Not sure about the light but fuse is easy to check. Under dash on drivers side. I believe each window has a separate 20A fuse IIRC

You could try to relearn the auto window. Not sure on the Tacoma’s but a lot of other cars you turn the ignition on. Press and hold down for several seconds, then up for several seconds, then down again and up.
