    Edit:
The last three pix show the final product, tou can see the smaller removable molle panel which you can replace and add the command center switchplate. A custom switch plate will be sold separately in the near future per your specs , ill engrave the letters and designs you want. The plate is time consuming to make especially when you are doing different custom ones:

    *****************

I designed this over the weekend and finally had my buddy install this on his 3rd gen being that he has a light color headliner which shows the panel better. Need to do some minor changes and add a TRDpro logo then make one for my truck. This is a permanent install , you need to penetrate the head liner and add nuts to the back. Spacers put the panel 1/2" away from the liner to provide clearance to weave your molle bags. It can hold about 2-3lbs. The liner is plastic so it supports well. Perfect for holding your sunglasses too.

Im offering it for $95 shipped as a group buy, it comes with all the hardware and spacers. You can place different colored paper behind the letters

    Its a 20 - 30 min install.
You can easily mount a ram mount ball on it.

Is this a coated aluminum/steel panel or is it a plastic?

I can do all 3 materials however ABS is best for this spot due to the creature.

Does this require you to pull the headliner down to do? Or can you actually reach the bolts and such without pulling the headliner down?

im not pooping on the dudes product because it looks like it’s designed for lightweight items but there’s no way I’d mount a CB to this thing without having some sort of reinforcement on the back of the headliner. I know the FJ guys used to epoxy blocks of wood to the roof and mount a CB thru headliner to that. But mounting to straight headliner? No way. It’s also a terrible spot for a CB. You’d have to crane your neck to see the display and in a wreck it’s asking for a boo boo.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Is the group buy on? I'm interested.

Agree with this. Headliner is just fancy cardboard, and it’s super expensive. Overload it with weight and it’s going to fail.

It can easily hold a hand held radio etc. I wouldnt mount a cobra ltd on it though.

This headliner is actually pretty strong becaise its layered foam and plastic. Holds its.shape well. If you want.to hold something heavier you can use magnets and a threaded rod but thays not what im shooting for.

You can also mount different switches on the front too.
