I m hearing this "they all do it" from Toyota on a level I have never heard before from Toyota. Never before have they allowed a customer to go away without a fix. Why should they? They sell 10s of thousands of trucks regardless of issues.

UPDATE: They replaced the assembly and it no longer moves!

Notes on paperwork for job include language that the unit was loose and had excessive clearance, which was causing the movement. They did not mention this when I first brought it in and tried to get me to leave without the fix.

They also included the language “swapped over foam and cloth seat cover”. Not 100% sure what that means, but does make me slightly nervous that it was installed incorrectly. Probably in my head about that but seems like an odd thing to include.

Either way, no longer moves and is feeling solid. Wild that they’re sending these away from factory with a clearly faulty seat. Bummer to have to have work like this done within the first 2k miles of a new truck, but overall happy I brought it in and got resolved.

I should also note that I would press through with the dealership with these issues. They know it's a problem but don't want to risk not being reimbursed by Toyota for the repair. Getting the rep involved with the issue will probably result in a solution

My drivers side seat started doing this 'knocking back and forth' in the adjustment track. The issue is the locking mechanism on one side has a lot of play but I don't see a screw, bolt or spring that can be adjusted. Anyone have any insight as to how I can tighten it up besides taking it to the dealer?

I have had my 2020 for about a week and it does this. It is very annoying, I will employ some of the approaches you guys have suggested here, here is hoping for a solution. I mean really, of all of the engineering Toyota is capable of they can’t make a seat rack that works. I have never had a vehicle that did this, this is my first “new” vehicle. thanks for the input. I will post back if their is a solution.

I didn’t really need to post this but wanted the count of people with the issue to go up. It is not just me it seems.

wasn't completely locked into position on the slide rails, if you set the position of the seat on an in between point its not fully locked into position and will move forward/backward until it gets locked [IMG]
