This largely a function of the "J" nut (or "U" nut, whatever you call it). I found that the proper spring nut goes on slightly loose on the bracket, and is self-centering when you put the bolt in.

The nut supplied by KTJO (even if the right size, which mine wasn't) isn't very good. Here's a somewhat blurry picture of the nut I ended up using:

That one looks a lot better (more durable and easier to install?) than the supplied nut. However, I’m going to leave mine undisturbed as it appears to be doing the job. :fingerscrossed:

Yes, once installed, I would leave it alone. There's a chance of messing up the covers if you pry them off again.

KTJO4x4 Update: unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) Amazon has gotten me in many used to good communication and quick deliveries. So, it’s frustrating when you are trying to find out where your stuff is at. That said, ordering from KTJO4x4 wasn’t anything like ordering from Jeff Bezos. But on the other hand, Amazon does not have the Tacoma grab handle. Katy Jo does. And finally now today, I have it too today July 12th, 2021.
So this is kinda a retraction and apology. I was kinda hard on KTJO4x4. I mean after all, there were BBB complaints and negative member comments here in Tacomaworld. This made me worry if I’d lost money. So at first I was posting my frustration. All the while I was FBMessaging Katie. She must be very busy and needs help to get back to her customers with their obvoius questions; Where's My Stuff?! When she didn't respond and, coupled with the negative writings in various places, I filed a PayPal complaint on 7/2/21. She finally got around to responding and said she was about to ship but now my funds were held up by PayPal. I phone called PayPal and they told me KTJO4x4 was indeed paid promptly on 6/29/21 when I placed my order. So I FBMessaged Katie and she said she will ship Tuesday 7/5/21 due to July 4th. Well, it din't go out on 7/5 but I did get an "Your Items Have Shipped" email on 7/8/21 and I received the Grab Handle today 7/12/21. NOTE: KTJO4x4 shipped USPS with Signature Required! I'd been tracking it with USPS automatic status texts and got a "We Tried To Deliver But Noone Is Home To Sign" text! I was like WTF?! Having been through this before, I drove to my USPS and they called the driver and got his 20. I went to meet him at a Postal Annex and got my damn Grab Handle. When I got home, I immediately installed it (thanks RobMotive) and now All is Good . As for the install... It took about 30mins. There's time spent trying to finagle the included 10mm bolts. Once installed and tightened, It's Solid. - Finally... Like I wrote befor, I think we all deserve a chance to make things right. I do believe Katie Kelley did for me. And I also believe she's trying to do the same for all her customers. I know it's easy to now that my plight is over but, I think TACO lovers are exactly people that overcome obstacles, So how about we be the spotters to help Katie get over some rough terrain and welcome her back to Tacomaworld. What do you guys think?

Having been personally lied to by her twice on another order, count me out. And, I'm betting you're not going to get much traction from other members or mods.

In the early days, I defended her multiple times and she should have taken many of our advice on how to improve. Instead, she continued to burn bridges. Yes, my grab handle is great, especially with my current knee problems. But, I will never, never, never do business with her again.

I admire your attitude. I try to avoid grudges myself. But I don’t think the mods want anything to do with your idea.

Ordering on the 29th and not shipping for 9 days during a holiday weekend is pretty normal. I had a parts ordered from Toyota take over a week for any kind of update after ordering.
Since you complained so quickly to paypal (less than 3 day from the payment), I understand why they did signature required as you were acting like a fishy customer. You are lucky they did not cancel after you complained so quickly. Your actions were not justified.
    Mine was not signature required.

We’re here. (He puts a match to his pipe and nods at the crackling fire.) Where does our story begin?

Has someone here already asked why the hell those old leather/pleather horizontal straps over the window, once seen in almost every auto, ever went away? Id like that in my truck please. Easier to replace and not in such a goddam awkward position

Has anyone recently purchased one of these grab handles? I noticed they are “in stock” on the ktjo website… also if so, have the figment issues been resolved?

I’ve heard enough complaints not to buy them. I believe they’re also banned on TW

Yeah, just read that lol. Bummer they couldn’t get it right… I wonder if there a legality thing that happened, for safety reasons… definitely don’t wanna get one after seeing these posts. Robmotive on YT just posted a video saying he’s gonna give it another go, also states the same issues a lot of people have had.

Mine works great, and looks great. Seems very solid when grabbing it to get in the truck. Had a bit of difficulty during the install, but still well worth it. Search out my older posts for pics and details. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...a-pillars-hud-and-bowl-lights.642703/page-235

Seems simple enough. Did you get a different j-clip or any other different hardware? Thx for the replies
