OP did you ever get this fixed from the dealer or home brew fix? I was driving in windy conditions on the interstate with a cross wind and it was going non stop. First time that has happened. Very annoying.

I can't find the other thread in which I was discussing this issue. But I think I might be on to something (also saw it mentioned in another thread a couple days ago). There are some little rubber plugs along the bottom of the door edge. Also a round one just a couple inches up from the bottom corner. My drivers door was missing two of the rubber plugs- the round one and one of the square-ish ones along the bottom edge. It makes sense that these plugs would force the bottom of the door outward and thus the top inward, tightening up the seal above the window.

Not sure this will fix the "kazoo", but it lessened the faint crackling sound of the seal by my ear.

Nah I finally figured it out a couple months ago, I'm like 99% sure its the door seals. Every so often now I'll get that sound and if it doesn't stop I just pop the door open a little bit and then slam it shut and hold the door shut for a second really hard and the sound goes away.

Lots of people have had the deals replaced with no improvement. I think it's more a pressure issue than the seal itself?

Worst thread ever. So many peoples who cant use search, then people complaining about not being helpful and telling others to find the links when they in fact didn't provide the links while being sanctimonious about it.

Dealer fixed mine. Not sure how but after 3 trips to dealer, forward door kazoo sounds gone for good. They said that there WAS a Toyota approved fix for it.

Anyone with the issue should see their dealer call customer service if dealer can't find the fix.

FYI the "kazoo" isnt my issue. Nor is the seal.

@VolcomTacoma i get the same noise narrowed it down to door seal also awhile ago. Haven't looked into a fix since it doesn't happen to much. If I find a good fix I'll post back on this thread.

I've had that noise occur when going down highway 62 toward the 10 freeway when the normal wind blows through that pass.

    That's right, I said THE 10 Freeway

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Mine just started doing this. With 6K miles. My first issue with this truck. And before anyone accuses me of not being able to search... That's exactly how I found this thread.

    Sub'd - hoping for a fix.

I'm 100% convinced its the door seals. Next time any of you hear it, pull on your door handle hard. Sometimes it stops it if you open you door and slam it hard

Did it fix the noise? Took mine to dealer and they said it was the lower arm control holes. They put duct tape on it and ordered plugs. As soon as I left and was on the highway noise was still there.

I too have the same problem. The day I bought the tuck it started. Purchased my Tacoma from a dealer in Victorville CA and on my drive home I noticed this. I was rolling along at 65-70 mph and there was a strong cross wind. The whistling started. Only happens travel above 45 mph and a cross wind.
Before anyone tells me to u see the serch features I'm not seaching just reading the post and adding my personal experience with my truck.
The noise doesn't bother me that much because I'm rarely in windy conditions.
I might try adding the foam stripe to the door seal next time I'm going out to the dessert.

Took mine to dealer and showed video of the sound head service tech took a test drive with me. Heard the noise and they replaced the doors seals both sides. He said that was making the sound. He also said after he installed the news seals they were thinner and he believes the thickness of the seals was the issue. Since I have had 0 noise!!! So happy now. Toyota's news seals are thinner than factory ones that came on the truck.

Would you be able to take a picture of your door seal? I have a 2017 Pro that i got in early feb. I get a whistle at 105km/h in my left ear that is driving me nuts. Would like to compare the picture to my current door seals.

I have brought it to dealership once already about the whistling. They confirmed the noise, said they made some adjustments and told me it was fixed.

    Thanks
