Only 22K on my truck and the left top strut mount is squeaking bad. I can rock the truck and replicate it every time. I can place my hand on the hat and feel it.

What is the best method to lube this? I’ve seen some guys use AT-205 in a spray bottle.

    Thanks in advance y’all.

My 2020 did that and the dealer replaced the strut.

I hate going in to the dealer. So much. It’s a massive waste of time and usually takes more than one trip - one for diagnosis then one for repairs.

I might have to go in. I usually fix everything myself. But I should take advantage of my warranty while I have it.

Of course the squeak is gone now after driving all day in the rain.

I've got the same problem with an intermittent squeak, and only about 3,000 miles of warranty left.

Go to the dealer. They will probably replace the strut , not a big deal . It happens . Use the warranty while you have it.

You really don’t want to lube it.
Any lube will attract dirt and road grit, accelerating the wear of the top hat bearing and the bushings. Will work for a short term fix.

The long term fix is replacement.

Following up on this thread. Had to have the dealer replace my driver’s side strut. As I was driving it home from work the NEXT DAY, the passenger strut started squeaking at the hat. So there’s another appointment and a missed day of work. Both struts at 23K. No bueno Toyota.

So here I am after picking up my truck today after having the passenger strut replaced because the hat was making a creaking noise (just like the driver side) when going over bumps at slow speeds.

Now - my brand new driver side strut is making the same noise again at the hat. I can put my hand on it and feel it. What is going on? It’s only been a few weeks since I had it replaced!
