And, you somehow have contrived that the grab handle will somehow affect that? It isn't worth the mental gymnastics as @wiljayhi said.

 

No need for condescension because you disagree.
It's quite simple: If there's something legitimately wrong with your airbag, but you've done this mod, you're screwed.

Sometimes we use that badass contraption for other things. In the good old days we used to hang on to the roof.

 

I really liked the handle in my 15 taco and miss it in the 20. I ordered one of these. can't wait. I liked grabbing it while making A sharp turn. That's all I ever used it for! But I miss it. As far as the airbag goes. no worries. imagine that trim piece having to let loose upon an airbag deployment. It would be a projectile that would slice your head off! Save the OG trim in case of a recall.

 

Did you get it for their "clearance" price?
I got mine in, nothing crazy and colors matched. It was a pain to install but I just gave up, grabbed an impact, and finalized it.

I wear a helmet when driving anyways....

Ha. Nice work. I did get mine on clearance, and that's why "I grabbed one" Ha. Was a fair price to get one for the dumb reason I like it. Ill load up on patience and meditation before I install. Glad to hear yours wasn't discolored.

 

I got my self centering clip nut (M6) at my local hardware store. Homedepot also has them under specialty fasteners I believe.
