does anyone know how to tell the difference in the drivers side coil spring compared to the passenger side coil? They have paint on them, but I can't remember which one was on what side.....

I didn't think it mattered. 'cause when I ordered new coils from moog, they both had the same part number, same box etc...

Factoring coils are a different spring rate "driver vs passenger" if I am not mistaken to account for the "lean" caused by fuel tank, battery, etc... on the drivers side.

The left is a cream/darker color and the right looks more white

Edit: the left may be faded "pink"

I just replaced my shocks/springs with a Moog combo set and there was definitely a LEFT and a RIGHT. I tried to figure out what the difference might be but couldn't see anything by eyeballing it. I just tried to remember not to mix up the boxes!

Yea my moog coils were labeled drivers and passenger. I'm not happy with them...... probably going to put my stock coils back on. That's why I'm tying to figure out which one goes where.

For one the Moog are noticeably shorter. I think they measured around 13.5" and my stock coils were over 14". And I have a "lean" that I didn't have prior to the new coils... I used a top plate 1/4" spacer to account for it and I'm still 3/8" low on the drivers side.

I also lost some lift with them. I was at 38/1/4" driver/passenger from the ground to the flare. Now I'm right at 37/1/2".

    Gotcha...I haven't noticed it yet. I didn't measure anything.

I just measured my stock coils (they're off the strut) & 1 measured 13.5" the other is just under 14.5"

Now the 64k question, is one longer than the other because it's "designed" to compensate for the Dr.side weight (batt. gas tank, etc: Or is it just a "worn out" DR. side that's lost some coil depth (the distance between coils)

Now on my old 'yota there were small numbers stamped into the coil near the top IIRC.... Look closely because they are small...

    Pretty much stock right now
When I did coils on my '01, there was a right and left, as noted above. Same with the rear leafs: the higher arch went on the drivers side. That may work with your coil springs also, with the taller one on the driver's side.

I followed those rules on my '03, and she sits perfectly level.

The coil with the white/red might be a tad longer. I'm going to have to put a tape on it.
