I'm with you on that one, too, but my regular passenger (wife) likes it there. When I got an '02 SR5 with a driver grab handle, I thought, "WTF is this doing here," and after bumping into it repeatedly it was removed and relegated to the parts truck. (Maybe I should've kept it to sell here for some stupid price!)

    Thanks for the update!

Also, that is a good pic to show that the handle it not symmetric top to bottom. So, flipping a right side handle was a no go.

Given the situation, I edited the title to be more helpful.

Grab handles for rear and driver side, that would be great!, but I don’t think they are available...

The DAH is coming first. It looks like deliveries might happen in September? After that, she will be working on the rear grab handles. There was a pic somewhere recently showing the final CAD file.

When someone actually gets one of these handles, I'm looking for a guinea pig to try out our a-pillar Ultragauge or Scangauge mount to see how it works with the handle. Katie tried it on her prototype and said it looked great, but I'm looking for someone to try it in the "real world".

That would be a great location for a Scangauge! Does it block viewing of her HUD?

It's hard to tell from her website picture - that's why I need a guinea pig to be sure.

I'll give it a try when we get the handles. I'm not happy with my current Scangauge's location.

I forgot, she did send me some pictures of the mount installed with the prototype handle - doesn't look like it'd block the HUD unit:

Has anyone come up with a different alternative for the driver side handle? The one from @KTJO 4x4 has been in production and “completed” for A VERY LOOOONG time and no signs of shipment. Hard to believe to this point that is due to covido_O.

I think it's definitely due to Covid. It hit at the absolute worst time for this project.

    There’s some stuff here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/grab-handle-oh-shit-handle-bar-missing-for-2016.408834/page-4
I don’t recommend anything with metal bolts sticking out because your head may eat them in an accident.

Maybe at the beginning. Even dealerships now are getting new inventory and taking orders etc.

If you have experience getting custom parts made, across the world, during a global pandemic, i'd love to hear your experiences. She's coming up with some really cool custom products at reasonable prices. Things take time. And alot of capital upfront. It's a big risk.

I'm not sure the global supply chain for Toyota dealerships and KTJO's small side hustle with production in China during the 'Rona Reign are equivalent, bro. We would call that a false equivalence if the professor were in. I linked you to some other options above but you seem more interested in talking about your impatience. To which I say:
