I really wish my truck had a grab handle on the drivers side like my other Tacos had and my current 4Runner has. I like to grab it to get out of the truck and take some of the abuse off of the seat bolster(which is always the first seat part to wear out). I'm 5'9" but I still have to kind of slide off the seat before my foot touches the ground.

So my question is this; Is this a trim level specific thing (I have a DC TRD OR MT)? Do any '16s have a drivers side grab handle? If I could confirm this I could try to get the "A" pillar trim with the handle.

None of them have it. I wish they did though, I miss it from my 2005

I miss that too until I can actually see in the blind spot it would create and not run into anything. The A pillar is already pretty fat without it on the drivers side. I've had a close call with small subcompacts on my left. I can't see them at an intersection, I have to lean forward a little to see now...

I'm sure they could create one that folds up when not in use. I used it all the time on my last truck.

I added one to my 14 tundra when they deleted it. If the pillar is the same I'm sure you could add one.

Didn't 2009+ have side curtain air bags as well? I know my 2015 does and I have the handle, and that would mean the passenger side doesn't have an airbag cause it still has a handle, which I don't think is the case.

I would have to know for sure that I wasn't going to get a handle lodged in my face from the airbag BUT, the passenger side A pillar has the same SRS badge as the drivers side and it has a handle. It's just going to require some research.
