So I've heard of issues where the amp stops working for the heated seats in the 3rd gen Tacoma but has anyone had their heated seats not being able to shut off?
I thought it was the amp and I swapped the passenger and drivers side amps but it didn't make a difference. When the heated seat is set to "off" it feels the same as if one bar was illuminated.
My only suspicion is that I recently had the dash apart so I could install the ECT always on mod and maybe I damaged something when I opened it up? I can't see any evidence of that so I figured I'd ask if anyone else has had this issue!

Have you checked for power at the seat connector?

You can probe the connector for voltage on the heated seat circuit and you should not detect any current if the heated seat is turned off. Sometimes heated seats are on timer circuits that cycle the current on and off to regulate the temp. I don't know if this is the case with Tacomo's or not, but I'd check it when I thought the seat felt warm.

BTW - DO NOT PROBE the AIRBAG CONNECTOR! Unless you want a big boom. If you can't absolutely identify the heated seat circuit, don't mess with it. Take it to a pro.

Maybe you got the “always on heated seat” mod by mistake?
    :p

So I did try to replace the climate control unit and that didn't seem to do anything either. I did disconnect all the heated seat parts, removed the feeder relay and had removed the negative battery terminal for 6 hours. One of those things seems to have solved my issue!
I didn't touch the yellow battery connector haha!

I know right? It seems to be good now though! It drives how I want and the seat seems to have settled down!

    I can't argue with that!
