i thought the same thing ,could be the relay but since its only blinking fast only on the drivers side front and rear i figured it was something more complicated i will give that a shot and see

When you "changed" out the bulbs, what did the plug end look like.???

The "Flasher" itself,I have seen these go BUT usually not intermittently like yours....

'01 Camry had just one light act "nuts" when brake was applied and I ended up cleaning all the plug tips with a small wire brush;then replaced that 194 side marker bulb...Everything went back to "normal"..

My '02 Tacoma used to LOVE plate & side marker light bulbs until I smartened up and put dialectic( spelling ??) grease on them.;)

Check your brake lights, a lot of times by design when a brake light is out your blinkers will go rapid to get your attention (it did) & to start looking around for issues....

What did you end up finding out? My left side is also blinking fast. All the bulbs are working. Thought about just buying another relay, but found this post and got curious if the flasher fixed your issue.

My driver side blinker blinks really fast all the time. Same scenario on my buddy's 98. I've tried bulbs and relays to no avail .

my friend did the fog light mod and his blinkers were hyperblinking, but only when he puts the brakes on. He just got an LED resister and put it in line of the blinker and that fixed it

sometimes blinker bulbs that toyota uses are dual intensity (has two filaments) but only use one filament. I havent replaced a light in a while, but you should have three contacts on the style that has dual intensity, if it has one of these bulbs, maybe its plugged in backwards so the marker light filament instead of the proper filament, or the ground is incorrectly connected to the bulb, im not saying it is or it isnt, just thinking out loud on a forum, also, do you have a tow wire harness? check it for shorts or broken wires that are shorting to something metal, or from wire to wire, my .02, not asking for a shitstorm!!!!

also if you're going to check bulbs, check the proper plug placement for the brake lights, it may have one of these bulbs too...

I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma and it has developed the same issue in the past year. I replaced the break light bulbs cause they were burned out causing the issue. Within 3 months turn signals started blinking fast once again and every once in a while when I hit the breaks they were blinking normal again. I am going to pull off break light bulbs and try a wire brush. They are grouding out for some reason.
