    Hi all,

My driverside door is current not unlocking by either the fob or interior lock/unlock switch. I have to manually unlock the door with the physical key, which unfortunately is beginning to wear down the key insert. The door does, however, lock with both the fob and the interior switches. I was told this was an actuator issue by a mechanic and that it needs replacement. I'm hesitant to make this investment, as they are slightly expensive.

Does this sound like an actuator issue or could this be a wire connection issue? I'm hoping for advice prior to taking the paneling off or removing parts. Thank you for any and all guidance!

    Ryan

Generally, when it does not unlock, it's most likely the actuator especially if you don't hear anything when you press unlock. If you have time, take the pass. unit and swap it with the driver side unit(assuming they're not left and right specific). Then order a new one and replace the pass. unit.

I don't hear anything when pressing the unlock button. Thank you for the response. I am going to be making a trip to a junk yard this weekend, so hopefully I can find an easy spare part.
