Driveshaft came undone?

    I'd probably disconnect the driveshaft at the rear axle and see if I can spin it. Cycle through transmission gears and transfer case modes to isolate the issue.

    Honestly, this happened on two prior vehicles of mine. A '97 Mercury Sable and an '07 F150. Automatic transmission failure. It just quits. One was replaced, the other was rebuilt. Find a new mechanic.
