6C0B6FB5-284F-4213-8275-5DBEFE800DFB.jpg So I had the rear differential seal replaced under warranty and drove the truck 200 miles and found out somehow the center support bearing unbolted from the crossmember and the driveshaft was just hanging down.
What would you guys do in this situation? What to ask the dealer to check?

Tell me about it. What is crazy is all I heard was a whining sound when I got off the throttle. I drove 120 miles back home and went straight to my buddies house who has a lift. Threw it up on the left and found that. I don’t know how it didn’t vibrate the shit out of the truck

What do you think to accomplish by going back to the dealer? Install new bolts with lock tight. If it doesn't vibrate, move on. People make mistakes. It happens.

I'm more surprised that you drove it 120 miles knowing it was not attached.

They are sending a tow truck to pick it up tomorrow. I’m just worried about other parts of the driveline that may be damaged. I’m sure the third member is tore up because the pinion angle is definitely changed. I am also worried about the driveshaft and transfer case. Maybe even that you joints. What should I ask them to check

Definitely send it back to the dealer to make it right and check everything and like others have said make them give you a 100k mile warranty

I didn’t know it was not attached like I said it was only a whining sound when I got off the throttle and figured it was in the differential that they had just pulled out. Yes people make mistakes but just putting two bolts and is not going to fix the problem. I understand that people make mistakes but they also need to own up to it and fix related components

I don’t know why they would unbolt the carrier bearing to change a diff seal

The center crossmember support where the bearing hooks up is bent so I don’t think two bolts was going to fix it

Because whole drive shaft has to come out, to remove center section.

I don't think so. The back half of the DS telescopes. Remove the 4 bolts bolting in the U-joint to the pinion and it's out and you have free access to the pinion/front of the diff.

I'm wondering if the CB was loose from the factory?

I would have them replace u-joints, carrier bearing, seals on diff, and transfer case. Also possible bearings in diff, and transfer case. With that flopping around for around 120 miles There could be some damage to all that I mentioned..

OP, can you clear up. Was there work done on the differential or the transfer case?

They changed a diff seal you just unbolt it from the third member a tie it up with a bungee cord. You never have to touch the carrier bearing

This shit is the reason I cringe when putting my vehicles at the dealership's mercy.
Just got the master cylinder recall letter day before yesterday, and I'm not even sure I'll take it in anytime in the near future.

It won't slide forward enough to get it out , it has to be completely removed. No slip joint on rear drive shaft.

Guess I should rephrase it proper procedure.
