If the dealership can bolt it back in place and it drives true with no issue, they are going to send you on your way with a placated "sorry" and maybe a free oil change for the hassle and go on to the next customer. The internet lawyers telling you to ask for a an extended warranty and half the driveline replaced are living in la la land.

I agree with them not replacing things that aren’t showing signs of damage but a warranty should be pretty easy for him to get

He does not have a legal entitlement to an extended warranty outside the repair for the defect condition.

Certainly not legally entitled, but it should be offered up by the Dealer since the Tech screwed up.

I wasn’t talking about legal entitlements. I was talking about things the dealer will do to make up for a potentially catastrophic mistake. Do we know that they didn’t cause premature wear and potential failure of any components?

Typical Toyota 2 bolts call it good. Not even willing to drop rear diff fluid. Also typical corporate always taking the dealers word for gold. Dealership shaid it was their fault but all they said they would do is replace bolts. I’m so sick of hearing Toyota corporate saying we leave it up to our dealers to make the final decision. So if the dealer says the sky is red you better change your thinking and start believing it is red because that’s what the dealer says

I am sure a couple of unicorns will chime in and say they do, but in the real world, very few people are checking Yelp or BBB for reviews before going to any dealership. It is always after the fact of hurt feelings that people go to these places to complain.
