In all seriousness OP, the hardest part I find believing is the very MINIMAL amount of body damage you received after flipping and spinning in the air, then landing on top of another car. How did you not destroy the engine bay, hood, windshield, front bumper, etc. I am sorry but until you can post pictures of what your truck looks like after the wreck then 99.9% of this forum is not going to believe you. I don't need to be 50 years old to understand what type of body and mechanical damage would have occurred after this wreck that you claim to having so age has nothing to do with it. The fact that you keep going back and forth about what part failed makes us more hesitant to believe your story. You also "fat fingered" what year your truck is...twice. If you told all of TW that they sky was green, would you expect us to believe you without any pictures?

If the accident did indeed happen 30 DAYS ago as you stated, then why not have documented pics of the damage(ect.)? Im not saying you're lying but this smells of bull my friend. ._.

True, but let's also remember that the Tacoma is a north american built product now. If I'm not mistaken, my truck has Spicer u joints in it. Just like a Ford or Chevy would likely have.

And it didn't perhaps have anything to do with incidents like this causing damage to the driveshaft or it's support structures?

Really? Hitting the limiter with the wheels spinning while high-centered?

    BTW: It's "high centered"
"High sided" is what happens when a biker locks up his rear tire and the bike throws him.

This new 2011 Toyota Tundra recall affects roughly 51,000 vehicles and it relates specifically to the driveshaft slip yoke, which connects the driveshaft to the inner workings of the truck’s transmission. According to the Japanese automaker, who has seen their once-spotless reputation crumble to nothing over the past two years, a small group of the 2011 Tundra pickups were built with slip yokes that were improperly cast during the manufacturing process. Because of these casting flaws, the yokes are prone to cracking and breaking. Once the slip yoke completely fails, the power cannot make it to the drive wheels. In addition to the vehicle becoming powerless, when a slip yoke pulls out of the back of the transmission fluid can flow out the back of the housing which can complicate the whole ordeal. In the worst case scenario, when the front of a driveshaft breaks while the vehicle is traveling at speed, the shaft contacting the road surface can create a “pole vault” type effect.

Yeah, but I mean... The chevy and ford have been no where near as reliable in the past years, were Toyotas built in North America when those two you posted about were built? Just wondering

I didn't say I flipped. I said pole vaulted. And maybe I should have been more specific saying the rear end lifted off the ground considerably. And I was not the one who said 4', the witness did... so maybe it was 2'. It was such a sudden jolt that I thought I was hit by a semi.

Yes, of possibly a few inches. And at 45mph, it's going to be a few inches. Like I said before, possible driveshaft came out, but not going 4ft in the air. That to me is just unbelievable. Mythbusters....

If it IS true, then I will apologize
