Isn't this the tsb where they change the pinion angle with the leaf springs ?

Yes, but it's still there so they change the engine mounts and install a dampner on your steerring wheel so you can't feel it... It just masks the issue...

Yep, they throw that "normal" and "characteristic of the vehicle" BS out there for everything they can't or won't fix.

    Good luck..

obviously you have NO idea what they are acomplishing with the TSB.

The only "mask" is the steering wheel dampener.

The other two major parts, rear transmission mount, and the different leaf springs, DIRECTLY effect driveline angles.

The rear transmission mount is shorter, which reduces the angle of the u joint at the transmission by a bit. Then with the new leaf springs you increase the pinion angle to more closely match the angle of the transmission u joint in the opposing direction so that they cancel out eachother.

Read up on some spicer driveline documentation.

Your missing my point. My earlier posts said YES it makes a difference but it still does not fix the issue 100%...that's my point...

No one claimed it fixed it 100% but it sure as shit gets rid of most of it which is what the TSB is set out to do.

Unfortunately outside of a one piece driveshaft, you are never going to have proper driveline angles on the tacoma and will always have some sort of vibes.

I have a 2014 Access Cab AT 4WD V6 and while I don't have the drive train vibration, I have a buzz that is felt on the floorboard and through the gas pedal at 2000 rpm when the engine is accelerating under load. It is exactly at 2000 rpm and is really annoying. Feels like a balancing issue with the engine although that seems like an unlikely scenario. I plan to let the dealer know when I take it in around October. Have no idea what they will do.

The "normal" comment cracks me up. Do you remember in the late '70's, when Pintos would blow up when they got rear ended? Ford said that was a "normal" condition! Haaaa!

Still working on this, but Toyota not cooperating.

I just had the TSB done on my 2014 DCSB this week. I just took it in and let them drive it. They acknowledged the issue, looked up the TSB, and ordered the parts. Most of my vibes are gone.

Sorry your dealers are giving you the run around. :(

I do remember that! I had a Mercury Bobcat, oh the shame. There was a guy that lived down the street from me with a Pinto, he had a big "Flammable" sticker across the rear hatch.. so true!

I really struggled with Toyota customer service.. Once they assign you a case number and case manager, it really gets challenging. When they call you, answer the phone if you can. If you aren't able to answer that call and have to call them back, the other customer service people (haha) will place you on hold and act like they're are actually trying to get in touch with your case manager (Daniel Castro in my case). Try asking for a supervisor, "sorry, not at his desk, out for lunch, not in today, can I have him call you back?" I called 12 times in one day and was lied to every time, finally the last CS person told me the truth, but only because I ripped her a new one after telling me, "Oh, I'm soooo sorry, Daniel just clocked out and left 1 minute ago".
The truth is you are placed in a queue and will be called back in aprox 24 hours after YOU call them back. Their customer service never offered any advice or help and never resolved anything, just documented my complaints and then finally asked if I wanted to proceed with arbitration. Oh, I did request that a supervisor call me back, several times in fact.. never got a single call from them.

Will do. I will upload as soon as I can. Most likely tomorrow morning. It's sad that after the tsb you still have some vib. That is a pure lemon in my state.

    awesome thank you.

Honestly the real reason i had this TSB done was to get the much better 3+1 leaf pack to build off of with an AAL. as my trd OR came with the WEAK ass 2+1 leaf pack .

I'm wondering if the dealer and corp know something you don't (i.e. the TSB probably won't fix the issue) so if the perform the TSB and it does not fix the problem they are stuck with a BS customer. Perhaps as eluded to above, Get/read the TSB - go back to the dealer , or new dealer(s) that still can't fix it - take the doc that says the Tech knows it's there, all the repair calls for the same problem and the TSB and follow up with a lemon law return ???

If you can get the dealer to do the repair and it's fixed great, but what I've been seeing is it fixes the issue 75%. What the dealers are saying after the tsb is ohh normal condition now. Also they have made the same truck sense 2005 and they still have the same issue in 2014. If they knew how to fix this issue don't you think after 14 years they would have???

And yes, in my state you can apply for lemon law with this type of issue... We have bought back many types of vehicles for similar issues...
