the way i see it, it does what i need it to do, and it looks pretty good doing it. i don't tow around 5-6 thousand pounds daily or need the ability to put huge amounts of material in the bed. i actually enjoy my bed being a little lower than full sizes, easier to get to stuff.

I don't really get that either. Sure there's the one Ford/Chevy/Dodge guy who says, "Call me when you get stuck", to which I reply, 'Well, your wife and I have never had that problem. Oh, you talking about the truck?".

I had a 3/4 ton Duramax diesel when I was towing a 9700 lb trailer and it did the job great. Once I got rid of the trailer, I didn't need the diesel for towing, so I sold the Duramax and got the Taco.

I don't regret it a bit. The Taco is so much more fun to drive and my prerunner does pretty good offroad. Mileage wasn't an issue for me. The diesel got 18mpg around town (not towing) and my taco gets 18-19.

Wouldn't go back unless I had a true need to, like pulling a big trailer again or something. Love my Taco!

I could care less about full size... I actually chuckle when I see these urban assault tank bouncing around the streets. Also...

i saw a tundra commercial on tv the other day, and one of the biggest points they were pushing was that the tundra was more american than ford and chevy because they outsource their production. so really...we drive the american trucks here.

Its simple. I've got a 89 4x4 Xtra cab Pickup 240k miles and a 1998 Tacoma 4x4 Xtra cab with 150k. My friends go through Silverados, Rams, and F-150s like paper plates. They try to talk trash, but never get very far.

no kidding...the girlfriend drives an F-150, and the window seal leaks, she had to replace the POS radio, the suspension's dying...it's hilarious. mine's 5 years older and will probably go at least 10 years longer.

No use for a full size, no desire to pay for one neither.

My truck probably gets used more as a truck than over half the lifted mall crawler trucks I see on a daily basis...

My roommate just had a friends Silverado 2500HD quad cab for a few days, things is a beast, can tow 17k pounds and is like riding in a Cadillac. Then again it is a $63,000 truck and you can't bring it grocery shopping on a busy day because there is no where to park it.

I'll take my midsize any day of the week over that beast.

I agree, does what I want, holds it value, decent on gas, and reliable. The perfect truck for me. ;)
