Driving around town this morning and came up to a intersection. Across that intersection is a Chevy dealership and they had some of the salesmen standing in the parking lot. They were trying to wave people to stop and come in (must had some kind of sale going on). One of the guys saw me and waved me to come in, so I entertain the invite and drove in the dealership. Salesman walked up to my truck and introduced himself. I told him that I thought this was a salvage yard with all of the Chevy's in the parking lot (I was joking with him.....but not really ). He asked me what was I up to today and would I be interested in test driving a Chevy. I told him that I wasn't interested and then he asked me what could he do to put me in a Chevy today. I told him that there was nothing he could do. He asked why? I told him why would I want to get rid of my Toyota that has one the highest re-sale values in the market, a truck that is proven to last, and why would I want to get of my lifetime powertrain warranty? He honestly couldn't argue what I was telling him. There was no "the Colorado was better". I just drove away laughing.

The Toyota dealership that I bought my truck from offers Lifetime warranties on any new Toyota you buy as long as you own it. They are the only Toyota dealership on this side of my state that offers it.

I've told this story several times, but it really fits this thread. At the Chevy dealer I work at, the employee lot has 5 Tacomas, 0 Colorados.

There are 3 Chevy dealerships where I live....one here in town, one about 5-10 minutes up the road, and one about 30 minutes away. Right before I bought my Toyota, out of the three Chevy dealerships....there was a total of 2 to 3 between all three of them. That has been consistent over the last several months. In fact, since I bought my Toyota (which was a little over a month ago) I have seen maybe 3 to 5 on the road where I live. At least 2 of them belongs to a Pest Control company. At the local Toyota dealership, Tacoma's have been selling strong. I think they had about 13 or 14 last week....now they have 9.
