Saw this cool-looking contemporary home in a neighborhood I delivered Taco Bell to; I am 99% sure this neighborhood was built by the now-defunct David Cutler Group, in the late 1980s...

The central A/C units were located on the side opposite the garage on all houses in this neighborhood; You cannot see it that well (if at all), but this house along with every other house in the neighborhood has only one air-conditioner despite being as big as (if not bigger than) my parents’ house, which has two separate central A/C systems for the upstairs and downstairs...

In front of the house where I made the second of two Taco Bell deliveries; Faring pretty well in the snow with a never-before-used 2009 spare tire!

I thought the contemporary house was a custom build, but then I saw two more just like it (albeit in different colors than the red one) and realized it was just another pick-a-floorplan-and-choose-your-lot tract home; Still pretty cool-looking in my opinion, though!

Final delivery of the day at a condo complex around the corner from my old high school in Doylestown, after which I decided to throw in the towel and head home due to worsening conditions...

One thing I forgot to mention was my encounter at a Chick-Fil-A down by Philly (but still in Bucks County, I think) last Saturday; The issue isn't about something that happened, but rather the fact that nothing happened...

Since COVID started, Chick-Fil-A has been killing it with the drive-thru/curbside pickup, and it is not uncommon to see lines of cars rivaling big city traffic! So, I show up at this particular Chick-Fil-A intent on parking my truck and going inside; They did have walk-in/takeout, but the line for the drive-thru was insane, and pretty much all of the parking spaces were taken from what I could see...

    :annoyed:

I could not see anyplace to park, so I cancelled the job and very quickly got another one; So yeah, I think I am going to avoid Chick-Fil-A from now on when doing DoorDash!

And it sucks, because I not only love their food, but I was always satisfied with their service when I was dashing!

Yes good food and good service, they do a good job of getting people their orders and keeping the line moving. Sometimes it's just so many people.

I officially refuse to pick up at Chick-Fil-A until COVID has been dealt with!

For starters, the drive-thru system has turned every single one of them into a zoo, and then all of them are closed to the public, which includes the restrooms...

    :annoyed:

I drove all the way to a Chick-Fil-A in North Wales, thinking it would have a public restroom (after encountering a pizza place that had closed it’s previously public restrooms), only to end up cancelling the order and rushing over to a nearby Wegman’s to use the bathroom...

The parking lot of the Wegman’s; A rather half-assed job if you ask me (that’s the Chick-Fil-A in the distance)...

Seems like they only did half of the parking lot... o_O

The only issue of the night was when the given address for a pizzeria in Dublin ended at someone’s house about a mile away; Luckily, the homeowner happened to be outside clearing snow and said Dashers came to his house all the time looking for the pizza place. He directed me to the pizza place, which was about a mile up the road at the same shopping center where the DMV that I’ve renewed my license at the last two times is located...

I did not realize that the guy on the tractor I passed heading in was the homeowner (and he didn’t see me at first), and I started backing out thinking that some guy with a shotgun was going to come out and chase me off the property. Because of this irrational fear, I just started backing up rather driving all the way up to the house and turning around; The back camera came in very handy for this!

My first job of the day was picking up an order at the Wendy’s in Doylestown and driving it to Perkasie... o_O

$8 for almost a 10-mile drive; By comparison, I made $9 later that night when I drove an order 3 miles from a Mexican restaurant to the customer’s house.

Anyway, I’m 99% sure there’s a Wendy’s in Perkasie; It was an easy enough drive, and the customer’s house was practically a farm, surrounded by a fence and sporting a “NO TRESPASSING” sign out front; After last Sunday’s encounter with the guy in Doylestown who I’m not only convinced thought I was a porch pirate, but had never even heard of DoorDash, a twinge of nervousness surged through me...

However, I kept reassuring myself that this guy had directly ordered from DoorDash and knew I was coming; He’d even given me specific directions on which driveway to pull into (I initially overshot his house).

He had a Dodge Ram Cummins in the driveway, and he was outside when I pulled up; He was a very nice guy, and we talked about trucks for a few minutes. I would like to take this moment to point out that longtime diesel truck guy referred to Tacomas as “great little trucks”!

Still can’t figure out why he ordered from a Wendy’s in Doylestown when he lives in Perkasie though...

Prior to COVID, there were times when I’d pick up three orders here over the course of a single night; That outdoor dining area used to be parking spaces...

I’m never picking up from McDonald’s again during the pandemic; The payouts are small and, as seen here, their bathrooms aren’t open!

The McDonald’s in our area are hot or miss. Mainly bathrooms are open though. Some don’t even let people in their dining rooms.

I took a job driving for Pizza Hut now though and got out of the Uber eats game
