I used to have a 2006 Scion tC and upgraded to a 2015 Toyota Tacoma. My driving habits did not change since I upgraded but I did notice that I get cut off much more in a truck than in my previously owned tC. Anyone else notice this once they went from a car to a truck or do I just live in an ass hole area?

I was thinking making the truck look more aggressive. A person would think twice before getting in front of me. Like body armor. Kind of like "I don't give a crap if a rear end you cuz nothing will happen to me" look. There was a picture of really nice body armor on this forum which I can not find. It it a type of a cage that covers the front and the back. I don't want to replace the front and rear bumper (bumper cover). If you know the brand please point it out.

They'll still do it regardless of what you have on the front to make it look more intimidating

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I get cut off all the time. Trucks, cars, and even cops. The only aggressive thing I have on the truck are sliders.

It's Houston, so I'm not surprised. That's why I have a dashcam to record them doing this in case I have to submit it to the insurance or police.

Opposite for me. I get cut off much more in my 99 Camry commuter car, usually in bro dozers/fullsize trucks, than my banged up, rusty tube bumper'd tacoma. We actually prefer to take the tacoma to sporting events and concerts since you can "maneuver" around the parking lot better and get out of the lot quicker. Plus if someone hits it, i don't care.

Billies and Eibachs, Camburg BJ UCAs, Demello hybrid sliders SOS HC rear bumper, SOS front bumper, Warn M80000, fully armored, Safari snorkel, No-slip locker, diff breather, bumper and roof mounted light bars, onboard Viair, 275/70 17 BFG ATs, and a badass sound system.
Check out avid off road. They make a front and rear "bumper protector" it's like a cage to offer parking lot protection or a spot to mount lights to. I wouldn't call it armor tho.

https://www.avidoffroad.com. these are significantly cheaper than a plate bumper and offer way less protection but they look pretty badass. I almost went this way but ended up getting a winch mount plate bumper instead. _20151023_044029.jpg _20151023_043949.jpg

I remember a guy over on JeepForum with the same problem. I think he lived in SoCa. Anyways, he went to a junkyard and picked up a smashed plastic rear bumper off a Prius, and zip-tied it to the front bumper of the armored/built TJ. He seemed to think the intimidation factor worked well. :notsure:

I've found it to be just the opposite. When I'm in my truck.....people don't act nearly as stupid with me.

Looks like you expect to be a taller more masculine man in your truck. You expect that people will bow to your tallness. And move away from a small mid-sized pickup. You are slower now also, you fat small pickup sized whale.

Lot's like in the early 1900s when folk wore tall hats. It's pretty funny when you dig into it, the heights got funny. And folks seemed to care.

I take it as what many of them thought back then. I got's a tall hat I'm better.

In your case I'd like to think of it of as:

Traffic patterns change like climate. You just perceive that folks cut you off because you have a taller hat. Random traffic patterns and idiots move in random patterns. You are slower now also, you fat TALL small pickup sized whale.

Perception. Bet you see a lot of Tacoma's on the road. Didn't before. You ever honk and thumbs up? They are never idiots either. Everyone else is...

Take notes and report back in a year...

And about armor to make it look bigger. Get a first gen Hummer. Or a tank. Folks on the phone don't care, they move, and you expect that to change. Get a Bus Pass. No worries.

It's probably the slow truck syndrome. We are locked in with the 18-wheelers, where people see any truck as being slow, and wishes to get around them so they are not slowed down. Or, they dislike the limited view being behind a truck.
