    Packed snow could be slick, or could give you more traction, depends on the climate. In the interior, our winters are ridiculously dry. No moisture whatsoever, whereas on the east coast, winters tend to be very wet.

    I'll add lighting as well to al the good advice so far. Don't be afraid to be lit up, visability is often not as good during the winter so drive with your lights on and fogs if you have em, especially if you have a color that blends in.

    Yeah.
    That glare and reflection back into your eyes is really helpful.
    Fogs, brights, the works.
    Smart drivers in the snow run low beams adjusted downward.
    Same for fog.

    Make sure you have a good set of tires.
    I like my duratracs, they are a work truck tire with a snow rating of 10.
