Exactly my point. They have one missing as soon as they enter Texas.

That's how I feel about vehicle inspections, state-run liquor stores, and DUI checkpoints...

    No, not all of them...

Only the ones that stick their noses where they ought not! The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania tells me where I can and can't buy booze, and what I can and can't do to my truck...

So yeah, I don't like 'em too much!

Exactly! I'm not even a big liquor drinker, but I work for a bar that is occasionally open on Sundays. Strange that PA closes it's commie liquor stores on Sundays but allows bars to be open...

Anyway, one time we were out of a specific type of booze on a Sunday, and my boss sent to the liquor store to buy some. Neither of us knew that it would be closed, so we were fucked...

I don't think religion has anything to do with it, but the ATF, and TABC team up, and fuck liquor stores like a bunch of fucks.

In the interest of keeping things on topic...

I hate DUI checkpoints! I was a victim of a drunk driver once and I fucking hate them...

I think roving patrols are a more effective way of catching drunk drivers, not nazi-esque checkpoints where every single vehicle is arbitrarily stopped.

Once you were made aware of parking in a handicap space you should have moved your truck. Period. End of story. The drama would have ended right then. Not preaching, man.

    Now....agreement on the Bond books.

    Great reads.

My orthopedic surgeon has offered to help me get handicap tags. I've held off on doing so. I simply feel there are folks much worse than me who need them....such as the elderly. It can be extremely hot & humid down here and getting them closer to air conditioning is a real need.

I do get a bit peeved when I'm limping across the parking lot towards an entrance that I've parked well away from in hopes of prevent my car from getting door dings.....limping and walk past a handicap space that a someone is parking in and there main handicap appears to be be morbidly obese. Sure, they may certainly have a heap of other health issues....but avoiding doughnuts and the like would certainly benefit them.

One store I was at yesterday found me very proud to hold off on my own handicap plates. I was limping on towards the entrance and a newish F-150 4x4 quad cab had parked in the closest handicap space. A young family of four hopped out. The son quickly pushed a wheelchair around to the drivers side. A 30-ish year old male hopped outa the drivers seat. He was missing most of his right leg. He hopped down nimbly and positioned himself into the wheelchair. A gorgeous black Labrador Retriever hopped out too. The dog had a "service dog" vest on with a military insignia patched on, too.

I crossed paths with the gentlemen & his dog a couple times in the store. They scooted around swiftly and covered ground fast. You could tell it wasn't their first time at the rodeo and they were an active pair.

It was a feel-good experience seeing someone who has lost so much, yet yielded NOTHING. This young former soldier, his family and his glorious Labrador were a tight unit. Made me proud to be an American. Enthusiastic approach to life....and a huge appreciation demonstrated in a simple shopping trip with his family.

Somewhere along the way I think I quit limping.

My point being....some things in life are simply out of our control and you can't get torqued up about them. Have a plan to address FUBAR situations, but hope for the best. Stay alert, stay calm, keep moving.

As one of the songs being played on the radio yesterday said, "God is great, beer is good.....and people are crazy".
