    Question:
I am putting a 3" lift on my 2021 TRD ORDC. My dad has a heated shop with a lift. I'd really like to do the install there over the weekend, but I wont be able to get it aligned until I get back home. Roughly 160 miles. Is this too far to drive without an alignment?
    Thanks.

Personally, I wouldn’t drive it that far after a 3” lift. You might get lucky and it’ll drive straight and be ok or you might need two front tires by the time you get home.
A while ago I replaced a tie rod end on one of my Dodge 3500’s and misread my tape measure (fast and nasty ‘Farmer’s Alignment’) Within a day it wrecked an almost new $250 dollar tire.

Should be fine...it’s not like your changing the tie rods.

Say bye bye to for tires if you do. You'll have to do a rough alignment before you drive that far. Hell unless you change for uca's it may be so far out of alignment that the shop might not be adore to do the alignment.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
For 160mi it won't hurt anything. Might drive a little squirrely but just be careful.

Depends on what the alignment looks like afterwards. Make sure steering wheel is centered and no pulling while driving and you should be fine. I did a 2" lift and it drove fine afterwards. Spoke to local shop who said there was no point in an alignment. Dealer checked the alignment after when I was in for my first service and said it was in spec.

You’ll be fine. I’ve been driving for months out of alignment.

but get it done when you can.

Yep, you’ll be good. You should always put some miles on the truck after lifting but before alignment. Stuff settles, fasteners need to be retorqued, and aligning too quickly after install usually means doing it again anyway.

It’s especially good to do if you’re putting on new/bigger shoes.....let things settle on your old tires, get it aligned when you get new ones.
