And thanks! It needs some more new parts but I've been too busy with the Supra.

Most of my time lately has been spent getting that 80's car to be trustworthy, but this weekend I washed the truck and swapped in my spare K&N air filter (I have 2 that I rotate while one is getting cleaned). Also spent some time doing a much needed retune on the VX700/5i in the truck. This is the 4th time I've retuned these Focal's in 1.5 years. Have the frequencies dialed by now, but they continue to break-in and were super overpowering the sub by this point. It's bliss in there again now, hopefully was the last time I'll have to do so.

Appreciate it dude! It's been a lot of work to get dialed in but it's so worth it. Hopefully it will get something new soon.

I always find myself coming back and looking at this build.

Not sure if I missed it somewhere but how much lift did you end up settling with?

    Hey me too haha.

I wasn't actually sure on the lift so I checked right now and it looks like I'm ~22.5" hub center to fender up front and ~23.25" rear, so I guess that's ~1.6" or so of suspension lift up front and ~1.25 in the rear. I pretty much set the front as high as it would go without the ribs on the cv boots touching. I still wish it was a little bigger because it seems like every Tacoma I park next to is the same size, but the ride quality is so much better with less lift. Will just wait until I go to 34's to get the rest of the stance I want.

Edit: went and measured the truck and updated the numbers. Pretty close to my guess.

Also, finally have a new mod to add to the list

It's been a while since the Taco got any money spent on it, but happy to finally update this thread with a new mod.

I have been looking for a clean way to display the trans temp for a while since the iDatalink Maestro annoyingly will not display it. The ScanGauge II doesn't have a clean mounting option that keeps it visible at a glance, and the ScanGauge III is too big. I forget how, but I found out about this Banks gauge and A pillar pod a while back and have been wanting it ever since. My MK3 Supra has been demanding my funds lately but that's finally paid off and running again, so decided to treat the daily to some new stuff. Pumped to have a Banks part, even if it's not performance-based, just always loved their stuff.

Enter, the Banks iDash SuperGauge. It displays way more parameters than I'll ever need and is super customizable, but the big thing is I can monitor the trans temp finally and can see if it will be worth adding a trans cooler to this, pinning the thermostat open, seeing when it's at the right temp during fluid changes, etc. Everything about this gauge and pod is super clean and I love the placement of it. The color and finish of the pod also matches perfectly. I figured the truck has everything else already, so the gauge is a nice, functional, finishing touch. With the OBD2 daisy chain splitter I have, the connection does support readings going to both the SuperGauge and the headunit simultaneously, but only if I manually enable the HU each time. I have an OBD2 Y-splitter I still need to experiment with to see if it will enable both automatically. I won't really need the display on the headunit anymore, but I like to have everything functional. Pretty happy with this little mod, I love interior stuff that you can see every time you're behind the wheel.

So far I'm pretty happy with this little gauge. Also happy to report that the trans temps are nowhere near as high as I expected them to be based on this forum. Below are the numbers after I got home from work last night while it was still 106° out. For now, I don't think it needs a trans cooler but we'll see how it does with longer drives and 4x4ing.

Another thing I can now keep an eye on are the AFR's from my tailored KDMax 10 tune. They're a hair lean, but that's probably why it's a bit more efficient. Good stuff.

Finally have a new part to install. I just need to get these PPF'd so the AZ sun doesn't kill them in 2 years like it did with my gen2's.

The build quality on these Evo's is wayyyyyyyyyy better and these are a much cleaner design that will have people questioning if they're aftermarket. Very much more my style of an upgrade. I'm pumped to get these on.

Picked up the Evo's from Hyer Quality Detail yesterday. They are now PPF'd with XPEL and ceramic coated with Ceramic Pro and somehow look better than they did before the protection went on. After bringing them home I got them prepped for the install - plastic trim from the factory lights transferred over, Superchargers installed, wiring harnesses connected and the chosen DRL configuration modules (amber with sequential turn signals) plugged in.

I've been playing in the dirt too much lately and the truck is in desperate need of a wash so I'm thinking this weekend will be a good time to get them on. Hopefully I'll have a rad update here at the beginning of next week. The truck is going to look so much better with these than the gen2's.

Well.. they are real, and they're fantastic.

To say these are an upgrade is an understatement. Every aspect of the Evo is better than the Gen2. Overall construction is OEM quality, fitment is OEM quality, output is OEM+. Extremely happy with these and the truck looks sooooo much better.

Sun-baked Gen2 vs Evo. This is why the Evo's got XPEL PPF'd before install.

Any chance you could get your valving specs from ADS? I've been having the same issues you were but haven't been able to get any good setups from other companies. Thanks!

I've asked before but never got the specifics. I didn't think too much of it as they'll likely be the only ones servicing it in the future and at that time I'd just let them know of any changes I want done. Would be cool to have the info but I'm not sure if they even logged it anywhere.

No issues so far. They look like they have faded a little but zero issues with the coating coming off. Could also be that I have not really cleaned them since install, but they don't really stand out for any bad reasons anymore.
