I haven't had a Taco since 2011 and at that time on my OR TRD package there was no way to shut the DRLs off they were always on. I didnt have the truck that long so no big deal, although I have read countless threads stating they ruin the housing, and burn them?

On my 2013 you can turn them on or off at your leisure. I have them on sometimes.

Main question is, has Toyota corrected this issue? Are any 2012-2013 experiencing any issues, should I be nervous to keep them on all the time, or is that why they made it so you can shut them on off at when you like? Why do they have this issue in the first place?

i have a 2012.. and couldnt shut the DTRL's off or turn them on until i did the mod to put in a switch to turn them on/off. now i just leave them off all the time. After doing the black head light mod i didnt want to take the chance of them melting and not having it covered under warranty.

how do you shut the DTRL's off on a 2013?

I believe Toyota finally made a switch to toggle them on the 2013s

The 13's , at least the Sport model..have it on the turn signal indicator switch stick..its like turning your lights off an on now, its the first click option, then side blinkers, then full lights.
