So a hadn’t attached anything to my hitch until today and in true fashion to my beloved truck something is miss aligned… I think. Is the hitch supposed to tilt down? Roughly about a 1/4 inch or a little less? I added a picture of the floor level and a 1 by 1 with a level on it inserted in the hitch. As always any help is appreciated. :thumbsup:IMG_3493.jpgIMG_3496.jpg

I would have never thought to take a level to the hitch.
What was on this hitch? It was probably like that beforehand and is fine.

I just put my bike rack on it, usually on the Highlander. This trucks new so no damage to anything… well since I took delivery of it. Everything looks solid underneath, is there any room to adjust these?

In all seriousness, its fine. If you think about it, any amount of weight in the bed (assuming someone has a perfectly leveled receiver) is going to experience some sort of sag, potentially even more than 1/4" when weight is added to the bed; just sit on the tailgate and watch the level. The hitch is also going to have some extent of play in it (unless you have one of those fancy hitch pins that takes up the slack), and its only going to sag/equalize more when you put tongue weight on it. If it makes you sleep better, give it a good kick test and make sure its not loose.

Is that a factory installed hitch? Have you hauled something really heavy?

Factory and no hauling anything yet. Guessing it’s just how it was born. Curious if any others out there are similar.

    That’s a quality observation. I didn’t see it that way but you’re right… “level headed” :D

Considering that the next bit of geometry in the system is an articulating ball, the exact levelness of the receiver isn't critical. As long as all hardware is properly sized, rated to the task, and there's no damage, send it.

Reason I asked is because in your photo it looks like the plastic bumper cover has been trimmed?

Take it back to the dealer and have the mounting inspected. Shims missing on the mounting bolts?

Dude your hitch is a loose fit into receiver so when you put tongue weight on it it will drop.
It makes zero difference in the greater scheme of life.
