    Some things..?
What’s up fellow TW browser? I have a question that you may be able to help solve.

I have a third gen Tacoma, which has had a front suspension drop bracket installed by the previous owner. My knowledge of IFS is still pretty limited, compared to solid axle stuff( originally a jeep owner)

I hate it, it is like an anchor on the trails. The ride is great but seriously kills wheeling with the truck.

The truck originally had about 5-6” of lift on it, but now I’ve lowered it to 3”, so a drop bracket shouldn’t be necessary.

I know I will have to rebuild a new crossmember to hold the diff in place(stock one gets cut with the drop bracket)

BUT my main question is this,
can I put the stock control arms in their original location, and retain the steering knuckles from the drop bracket kit? this would allow me to be cheaper, and keep the beefier knuckles.

could this cause steering issues or bump steer? Will I be able to align the truck?

    pics included, thanks!

That upper ball joint looks to have a hole in it. Not sure if you can keep them as I'm not familiar with drop lifts but if they are taller then alignment would be difficult.

I would take all the parts and sell them. Then get some gusseted spindles and call it a day.

Unfortunately parts of the frame had to be cut out to install. It’s PIA to reverse!!! The steering knuckles on the 5/6” kits are usually extended length knuckles so you’ll need OE length ones if taking the db kit out.

I went through this process on my 2nd gen a year or two ago. You won't be able to re-use the knuckles
