Depends on your trailer. I use different tongues depending on what trailer I am pulling. Set your trailer level and measure that height. Hook up to whatever tongue you have and measure the sag. Then calculate the difference and get a tongue that will keep your trailer level while hooked.

Can't tell ya. My trailer set-up is most likely different than yours.

I don’t have a trailer, but need to get one in the future and a log splitter. Just looking for an all around one that will work.

I got the 2ish" drop hitch that came with my Taco, but also bought this puppy from Princess Auto. 3 common ball sizes and Captain Hook!

I don't have a lift, and this setup is only good for temporary pulls as it isn't a drop hitch!

I have about 6 tongues from over the years with different vehicles and trailers. There is no standard. That doesn’t even include the 3 ball sizes I run.

Go out and look at the trailers that best suit your needs and measure what the ball height would be with the trailer level. This really is a case by case basis and there is no magic ask the Internet answer. Considering you can buy a tongue just about anywhere wait until you buy something and sort the tongue out then.
