Got the PNP harness from Hotshot Offroad and love it, but really want to get this wired up to a standalone switch. The ease of install with the PNP harness was simply too awesome to resist.

Same. I'll pull it to a cab switch eventually but I'm loving it now

Got some more ideas coming, but the more complicated we get the higher cost goes... There will be more optionality available for folks down the road, but not quite yet!

Out of all the ridiculous things I have wired for my truck, my reverse lights are the most ridiculous IMHO. 1 SPDT switch, 2 fuses, 3 relays, and 4 diodes, just so I could get some stupid little indicator lights to come on only when the auxiliary reverse lights are actually on. One switch setting and the lights come on with the regular reverse lights, they don’t come on at all, or they come on anytime. Anyway, if complexity equals money, I should be swimming in my gold vault soon :D

Also, hopefully soon there will be a 3rd gen Tundra p-n-p harness available o_O

It's STILL BROKEN! Sun is shining, and birds are chirping today... Hopefully I can get it fixed.

To add to the funny/not so funny, that sort of thing is precisely why I grabbed the SSC2s. Plan to use a SPDT to turn on the white floods or flash/strobe the backlights for use in fog. Not sure the backlights are bright enough for that that so I grabbed Puppypunter's brake light tap for the SSC2 backlights as an alternate use. Or I might ditch the SSC2s altogether and simply grab the hitchpod from memario1214.....

I definitely like the idea of the ssc2 backlight as a chase light. And a switch for on, auto (with parking lights) and off. But I was thinking, beyond that, some sort of indicator on the dash so you know when they are activated. Or maybe a pair, one for the backlight and one for the light itself.

These seem like the closest style of switch, the A-B one could work for this if A stands for auto. I think @mynameistory has one of these which is actually labeled auto. The meso puddle switch could probably work as well but I don't think it has an indicator led.

That A/B switch is the one I used for the auxiliary reverse. I’ll post a wiring diagram in a bit if you want to see how ridiculous you can get with it :)

My switch is the high/low, but with the green wire snipped because I'm not using the switch to control 2 sets of sequenced lights. I used it because I wanted the high setting to activate with high beams,I figured that would help me remember.

There is a small problem with mine, you can see it in the photo: the LOW indicator is always lit, because it is wired hot regardless of switch position. The HIGH indicator will come on, but not with the switch only (the high beam toggle turns it on). I've decided that it doesn't really bug me at all, as these switches aren't really in my line of sight and the switch position is very easy feedback to feel by hand.

I too ordered the MESO block, I got a little coupon code and I figured why not. However I was too late to notice that there was a bundle that included the S1! Otherwise I would have ordered both from MESO or Hotshot. I ended up ordering an S1 directly from BD. @memario1214 do you know what current lead times are for recent BD orders?

As for wiring I'm just going to make a trailer plug and tap into the reverse circuit there. 4Runner trailer plugs are tucked under the bumper facing down. Kind of an odd placement but it's less obvious than Tacoma.

@memario1214 Any chance of purchasing one of these harnesses from you? Or did I miss the boat?
