    Hey fam,

So I just brought a snug top for my double cab. However, my Tacoma has the oem plastic bed liner that sits over the top of the bed.

Is there any way I can keep the liner and clamp the the shell together? Or am I going to have cut the top plastic to sit under the rails or drill Holes.

If anyone has had this problem. pls let me know.

    thank you!

@OP I have owned a Glasstite camper shell and aftermarket plastic slide in bed liner myself for about 20 years on my truck. My plastic slide in bed liner sits under the bed rail and allows me to clamp the camper shell to the bed rail without interference from the bed liner since it's not in the way.

Concerning your situation, you can either cut the top part of the bed liner that sits on the bed rail or a get an aftermarket bed liner that installs under the bed rail like mine. Then you can clamp your camper shell to the bed rails. I'm going to be getting rid of my plastic slide in bed liner (under the bed rail) soon when I get my spray in bed liner sometime next year. If you're interested, let me know. I'm in the Bay Area.

Toyota made two different types of bed liner. Under rail, and over rail. You have the over rail version you’d need to cut holes in.

I went the other route. I sold my over rail, and went for an under rail bed liner so I didn’t have to cut any holes.

I don’t like spray in liner. I’m a fan of plastic drop in liners.

I have a snug top on top of an over rail bed liner. No problem. I cut out little sections of the liner to use snug top clamps

I had this situation with my ‘93...I used a hole saw on the bedliner where I wanted clamps.
