    I lived on the west side of the SC mountains for a while, and had woodrats and deer mice everywhere that would go in our vehicles. Eventually just set traps in the vehicles and killed them all. I'm a wildlife biologist too, but fuck them, at that point they were pests. Luckily no chewing of wires though.

    we will start her up this afternoon and see how the repair went. Spraying everything with peppermint spray every few days including the Tacoma and my little work van. Also set up multiple variations of rodent traps.

    The 4runner lives
    Started up with some crazy knocks sound and then quieted down nicely.
    Had time to do a quick touch up on the Tacoma.

    I tasted the tape yesterday - not incredibly hot but did numb up my tongue a bit. then I went inside and had a bunch of salsa that was hotter to make things better. I could see if I was a small rodent how it would deter me after a bite.

    :cheers:

    Looks like a great time! Maybe not during the event with all of the obstacles and damage done but the stories will last forever! So, we putting together a TW team for 2023? :burp:

    lessons were learned
    The Covid really put a damper on the organization side.
    damage- well everybody had some sort of issue. Baja will chew you up and spit you out. The trick is being able to roll with the punches. Multiple teams were quite familiar with Autozone by the end of the rally. Busted diffs, fist sized holes in oil pans, exploding shocks, failed pumps... the list goes on on . Nothing that cant be fixed with the right attitude.

    Put a team together- :thumbsup::cheers:

    Sounds like my kind of party. :headbang:

    How was the course? I was reading the rule book this morning and it looks like you only received your destination per the day and the route is planned on the whim?

    It depends if you were in the racing category or touring. I was in touring but raced. The racers would get GPS points loaded to them on the daily until it all fell apart. At that point they just gave us all the points. We lucked out and hit many of them by my mapping and pure luck.

    I was able to map out the entire trip with my Gaia app going off of the stages listed and campground GPS points. However best to double/triple check those each day as that is how I ended up in the riverbed due to an incorrect GPS camp position.
