Dropping in-Mid-Travel Madness!

all signed up for Baja XL 2023- this time I drive it all the way home
Lessons were learned just need to remember them

 

went to put on my seat belt and the receiver broke- piece of plastic came out and a stretched out spring. No I have to hold down the red release button to get it to catch or release. Guess its time for a new one of these as that seems to be causing the seat belt alarm to go off now

 

my light control module is now been repaired- seems 3 out of 4 wires had come undone from their solder points - had to do some micro soldering work- all lights working again but now that it is back in some of the lights on the face of the control unit not working

 

i came on this thread to see truck stuff in class and this picture showed up. now i look like a weirdo. many people saw.

 

Classic good to see people picking up strangers asses in strangers yards. Truly an unexpected moment. Turns out my buddy knew that hoe’s asst’s from the Ass pic

another great Baja Rally under the belt for this 2008 Tacoma

 

busted front diff on the Doge- I just happened to be passing by and had the only 35mm socket for hundreds of miles that allowed us to convert from 4WD to 2WD and keep a good buddy in the rally

 

and of course after rally repairs- I had a Total Chaos Steel uniball replacement tool that I modified to be like the Aluminum one they are selling now- just drilled holes for my spring compressor tool so It could become more useful

 

As always I go through the truck after a good baja trashing-
Things to fix
uniballs, shocks getting rebuilt, cv boot repair, new upper and lower bushings for controll arms,bent lower controll arm mounting point-, checked reinforced spindles found crack- rewelded, oil change all around, new Rim new tire,broken antenna, cabin air filter, check all that stuff.... ya never know what you will find untill you look
