Visibility is different in the twins because the hood does not stick up in your face like the Tacoma. It is wide and bulky looking but it doesn't sit as high or long as the Tacoma.

I read in the manual that when traction control is engaged, it limits power. Has anyone tried hitting the ECT button and completely turning of traction control by holding the button for like 5 seconds?

I think the long bed access cab looks proportionally ideal. I also don't really like how the fender flares on the short box look like they were cut off before they finished the body lines. It is all personal preference though.

Yet after all of your threads and comments about wanting to tow a Casita you don't mention anything about what truck you think would be the best suited for your application? You've posted probably dozens of times in so any threads asking the same question over and over about what others think about towing a Casita, but no mention of it in your post here. By the time you actually decide on a truck I bet that camper of yours will be on it's last leg!

What I meant on length is the Nose of the truck. Look at how much larger the windshield on the GMC is and shorter the nose. The Tacoma has a narrow (short) windshield and a long nose which exacerbates the visibility "issue" that many complain of on the new Tacoma. After driving for a couple of weeks though, you get used to it. The Hood Scoop doesn't help either.

I've driven both, the hood scoop isn't nearly as invasive as I thought it would be. It also kind of breaks up the hood so it's not one giant mirror.

I test drove TRD OR and the Sport. Sport bounced like a dumptruck and the hood scoop was in my face. TRD OR had a lot more off road capability which was better for my application and the cost was not much different. Couldn't understand the cost vs. value of the Sport for what you are getting. Even if you wanted the Scoop and Painted fenders, cheaper to add that stuff aftermarket than to forego all of the added benefits that come on the OR model. (boosted brakes, MTS, CC, etc.) most people add aftermarket wheels and tires anyway so the 17" wheels were a non-factor.

yes it is harder to see in front of the Tacoma and more comes in play when off road but as stated I had the sport to me wasn't much if at all any difference than the off road without it. I did get used to it and it was fine on that issue to me. If I was to get another if seats got better and worked for me and they too maybe came out with a diesel I would go off road not Sport for the crawl control.

You obviously know little about Casita trailers. Not made out of flimsy particle board that is prone to rot if it gets a small leak. I could be posting about my Casita here for years just to annoy you. Although with the frequency that you comment on my posts I am beginning to think you are developing some weird sort of afinity for me.

I just went to look at the Casita travel trailers and those are cool. Id like to get one of those. That would pull great behind my diesel Colorado for sure. How do you like it?

I like the Casita but if I buy something will want it to be able to sleep 4 adults (two queen bed type setup) The Aliner I used this past weekend could sleep 2 adults and 2 small kids comfortably or 3 adults total. It was close but just shy of what I'd like. Also want something I can get into some backwoods forest roads with. The Aliner offroad kit was perfect for that. Just wish they made them with a slightly larger sleeping configuration. Worried about height clearance on the Casita and they also seem too small for sleeping 4 adults..

Haha! Just think it's time to shit or get off the pot. And overtime I commented on my towing experience when someone asked, you always chimed in with the same exact questions, even though I answered them several times over to you before.

I love my Casita. Your Colorado diesel would hardly even know it was back there. They hold their value pretty well. Took a long time for me to find one used.

Yeah for four adults a Casita might be pretty small. It's just me and my girlfriend right now so space is no issues. I have had my Dad and nephew sleep in there no problem though.

You brought up the towing thing here buddy. You're the only guy giving me guff for not blindly jumping into a purchase. My Gen 3 towing thread I started is going strong still so obviously I am helping people with my questions and posts. I have an idea? Put me on ignore! You like to scold other people on this forum for asking basic forums too. You're not that cool. I will shit when I am ready. Get over it.

Well I didn't like the Aliner. Just went to look at them. Different for sure. Good luck with whatever you choose. Heck I am opposite and traded my 15 tundra crew 4x4 on the 16 Tacoma sport crew 4x4 (like the off road better now I see options on both) and sold it due to reasons listed but loved the truck and ordered a diesel Colorado and got it delivered 5 weeks ago and so far so goo on it. I would definitely get another Tacoma if they get seats that are fully adjustable and diesel for sure.

I commend your patience on making such a purchase especially with a pretty problematic vehicle. I tend to be a bit impulsive and paying for it now....

What I like is that they are small. My Dad has one with smal lift on it and we can pull it into some pretty rough fire roads and get away from the crowds.
