They're pretty pricey and that's IF you can find a used one. How do they do in cold weather

yeah wish I did too. Cost me a lot for sure. But I trade every 2 years is normal and about 65k miles on my trucks anyway because of how many miles I put on it seems to work out to costing about same if I had kept it 5 years 160000 and take chance on possible major issue out of warranty. But anything under 2 years if you sell or trade hurts for sure!

What pains me the most is that Toyota JUST released a new 2.8L turbo diesel and STILL refuse to put it in the tacoma. I would have opted for a diesel if it was available. After driving the canyon and the tacoma the Duramax still wasn't enough to sway me to the dark side. Plus I'm still a little bitter toward GM for the rusted chinese steel brake lines in my 2000 sierra.

They are definitely pricey. My friend with the canyon has the SLT package, bose stero, tow package. Even on his access cab he was over $40k before tax and registration.

that is true. As you see I bought the Tacoma over the diesel too but it just didn't work for my back from seating position as much as I am in it. So I too preferred the Toyota and I am really a Toyota person for most part. I am not a Chevy person at all and last Chevy I had was in 2007 and it was in shop all the time. I really wanted a small truck especially after driving the Tacoma those two months so the Colorado diesel was just ticket and I really like the power band a lot. Seats are not perfect but livable and I will see what Tacoma does going forward this next year. The diesel does add that $3200 for sure and is pricey but I really like the difference in drive train. Plus I am averaging about 8 mpg better than the gas model. So with as many miles as I do it will add up. Plus resale it should keep that 3k margin

I guess he does make a valid point even though I'm giving him so much shit. I mean let's be honest, I hate my '16. The transmission has given me problems, the dealerships try to avoid actually doing their job, and Toyota Corporate really isn't much help. If I was him I'd shy away from Toyota all together. Props for being patient, and I stand corrected!

are you really having issues with your Tacoma? I only had mine 2 months but had no issues at all other than personal seat situation. Toyota usually has very little issues for most part.

Where the hell have you been? Do yourself a favor and read through the 3rd Gen forum. Yes, there are a lot of people whining about insignificant things and gripes about personal preferences, etc., but many are also having issues with the transmission, vibrations, etc.

When I shopped for a new truck ,
I only looked at Toyota and gm
Tundra was what I wanted but was more truck than I needed
The Sierra 5.3 was nice but a dog
The Colorado was nice but as much as the Sierra once options were added. 2016 Tacoma has a great interior but was sluggish and very pricey. I then test drive a used 08 trd taco 110,000 kms.
It felt new So I looked for a low mileage used Tacoma. Love it.
A deisel option would be nice. But you can buy a lot of gas for the difference in price.

I absolutely love the look of the Colorado / Canyon. There's a guy on a FB page I'm on who has one and he built a super nice front end setup from scratch. I dig it!

was yours manufactured in mexico or texas? Mine was made in Texas and it hasn't given me basically any problems. The transmission has gotten a lot better since I got it, ocarina lower control arm noise there but that's an easy fix, other than that I don't have a single complaint. I love this truck. I guess we'll see as I put miles on it but I have nothing but good things to say about it.

I got mine for $10k used. It was a 2006 model that I bought in 2014. Owner took it out twice then got sick and past away. His daughters sold it to me. I send them photos of me using it and they say they really appreciate that because they knew he would have wanted it to get some good use.
They do great in cold weather. Interior has carpet insulation. Has a gas furnace inside. Stays very toasty in cold weather and I take it out in cold weather a
    lot.

I am seriously considering a manual now. Cheaper price tag and better driving experience. Got my dealer looking for availability now.

to me it looks awesome. Mine is stock and wish Id of went that red over the white because that looks kick ass. Mine looks plain. I may look at putting a lift on mine. I was hoping they would come out with a front bumper that they have on the concept zr2 truck. Its low pro and looks good. I don't see this looking at all like an avalanche

I love it too! This guy has been going crazy on this thing since he got it. GM really did a great job on the looks department in my opinion.

Damn that Colorado does look beastly. I wonder what it cost him to mod the front end like that. $1500+ is my guess. Imagine that with the diesel in it...:drool::drool:
