Explain.... the slowing down when using cruise is the adaptive cruise control. It will slow down and then turn the cruise control off if it slows you down enough. If your driving without your cruise on and the accident avoidance triggers you get a “BRAKE” on your screen and an audible warning (which you don’t get either with cruise on) and braking.

I probably should have stated -- Both functions - Adaptive CC and the auto braking use the same sensors. Also, the CC does NOT have to be on for the collision avoidance braking to work. That function will work when needed without regard of the CC being turned on or not!

Never said the braking didn’t function without the cruise on... I said you don’t get an audible warning and visual warning with cruise on. It just auto brakes and turns the cruise control off when you come to a stop. It very well probably does use the same sensor but is implemented in different ways.

Thank you for a useful post. Didn't think this thread would make me an instant celebrity on TW. Where exactly do I clean on the windshield, and where exactly on the grill?

So, I do not need to remove the grill and actually clean the backside of the emblem?

To to right of the rearview mirror is where the camera sits.
The front sensor points forward, should just need to clean the face of it not behind it. It's the flat part of the grill not the honeycomb part. So you are not cleaning the emblem as much as the part of the grill below it

Just clean these two areas and you will be O.k. No need to remove the grille or sensors.

    Not too much
Maybe it’s from odd Skewp reflections. :) Op could paint the boxes in bed-liner black and retry the experiment.

That's a good point, but I just assumed OP would have the stock grille like mine since he doesnt even know how to open the hood.

What if, i mean its hypothetical of course, but what if the dealer installed the grill but the tech didn't torque up the 10mm bolts on top and it falls off on the highway...perhaps while you heading off to vacation destination? Dunno

That would require a free upgrade to the PRO, just to ensure that any other options are properly installed, and a small monetary settlement of 1.5 million dollars for future therapy sessions due to FGS ( falling grille syndrome).
